I agree with the "i wish it had been even longer than that" crew. This is a quality game, with quality writing i mean come on, who hasn't smirked at least once to Alistair's or Morrigan's dialogue?

"So let's talk about your mother"
"I'd rather talk about your mother"
"there's nothing to talk about, besides, isn't your mother a scary witch that lives in the woods, much more interesting"

Ok it sounds juvenile but still :p

I love the length. In fact, after finishing I wanted more places to explore with more quests.

i wish every game was on the same size-scale as Dragon Age! i mean it is no Elder Scrolls, but Dragon Age is the first game i have bought in a long time where i can honestly say i was getting a better deal than the retail price. Game developers should take notes, there is nothing wrong with being thorough and extensive

agree, same deal with Just Cause 2. The map is so fucking massive it takes literally 15-30 minutes to get across in a fighter jet at top speed. you would be insane to 100% that game.

I'm shooting for at least 75%. Call me crazy.

Yep, they put too much work and effort into the game. It sucks because there is so much to do. I think it would have been better if the Dev team had done less work on the thing.

Your question makes as much sense as the above.
This.

If a game has a lot of content, isn't that good? Would you like to have 2 hour RPG?
Because those who aren't insanely dedicated won't see it all. I say there are markets for all sizes of game. Someone has to make a super huge game.

Actually I think Dragon Age: Origins had a decent length. Though I skipped over the MMO styled sidequests. The gameplay for me gets a little tiresome after 40 hours, though the story and the boss battles are worth it.

9 hours for 9% thats mere pennies compared to real games! Look at Baldurs gate! It took forever too! But then again it actually had branching story lines and choices... Anyway, if you want to see a real time nightmare get the Oblivion. It could literally take a year, not to mention the millions and millions of awesome mods for it.

...Are you honestly saying "Damn, I got my money's worth out of this purchase!"? I'm quite perplexed. It is a big game, and with more coming on a (fairly) frequent basis, it's indeed quite a satisfying game, if even if it does leave me a bit wanting. But something that wants me more cannot be called 'too big'. Like a woman who finds a man with a wonderfully sized penis and who knows how to use it, I am satisfied, and will take it again on another occasion.

While it can be said that the Dragon Age is an expansive world, I don't feel it moves entirely to it's detriment. Its a game that I cannot finish in a few hours, and my choices there are not linear. I actually like the ability to explore towns and certain areas. Though the only thing I would have liked to have seen is more world exploration, kinda like how it is with Gothik or Risen. At that point we might be able to get horses or mounts to make the trips easier. Yes it would increase game play time, but it would have also given a feel of not being boxed in. Though what is there is already expansive. To be honest, It has already been about 40 hours worth of game time I've sunk into it. I've just made it to Denerim. Still, its a fun game!

Well, I'm on my 5th character and I've still only gotten one up to the final battle. Not having beaten it completely yet, I keep wanting to replay through it and not have it end.

So no. It's not too big, imho.

San Andreas was a game with way too much. Dragon Age is an RPG. it shuold have loads of content. although, the Awakening expansion can be beaten in under 10 hours and i finished the main game in under 30.

too big?! absolutely not! I don't mind admitting that DO dominated my life for the week or so it took me to finish it, and when I did I was like "Is that it? Now what am I supposed to do with myself?". I though it was a decent length, but I wish it was longer and I also wish I had the expansion on hand so I could immediately start playing that instead

been playing dragon age again doing all the extra quests and side missions and it's been 9 hours and i've only done 9%!! so i ask you all, is it too big? the main quest alone took me 5 days with 12 hour a day play...
It really is too long. I played as a Rogue and it was just pure hell. It's a broken class.
The quests took massively long to complete. I got lost a few times and the most fun part of it was the final battle against the Archdemon.

I know the game's been out a while but please use spoilers. I like Alistair and didn't want to know about this. [spoilar] [/spoilar] correct spelling will give the spoiler box like this

Calm down, space cowboy. That's not a story point. It's him dying in a regular encounter.

Sheesh.

Honestly yes. I still cringe when I think of memory leak induced 5 minute long load screens.
