Hoy crap. I hate anti-videogame media. Parents and journalists alike seem to know nothing about the games they speak of. Perhaps I shouldn't say that victim Stefan Pakeerah, 14, owned the 18 rated game while murderer Warren Leblanc, 17, didn't own it.Octorok said:Ranty Rant: Justified
Probably because of many reasons for it to get screen time. That and it is one heck of an amusing picture if you're not squeamish.Vanguard_Ex said:I lol'd. OT: Heh. My girl lives in Scotland and judging from what she seems to recount to me, this, well...it's not surprising in the least.
Because people would rather blame an outside source than think that the person may just be a psychopath. Or at least, that's my view of it.Octorok said:Hoy crap. I hate anti-videogame media. I present, Exhibit A - Not bothering to research the game beyond looking at the cover.
"Following the hearing she said her son's killer had mimicked a game called Manhunt, developed by Edinburgh-based Rockstar North, in which the players score points for violent killings."
Then I present Exhibit B - Blaming the game for a murder with no proof.
"The way Warren committed the murder is how the game is set out - killing people using weapons like hammers and knives." (Note : This is an example of extreme stupidity. Let the court records show that people have been killing with knives and hammers for thousands of years, and please emphasise that it is highly unlikely that anybody thought of the idea to kill with weapons because of a videogame)
"...and it encourages brutal killing.
If he was obsessed by it, it could well be that the boundaries for him became quite hazy."
..."There is some connection between the game and what he has done."
Exhibit B[sup]i[/sup] - Calling for a ban on all violent videogames. (Note - Connection to Exhibit A here as nobody understands games)
"Mrs Pakeerah, 36, called for violent video games to be banned."
"She said: "I can't believe that this sort of material is allowed in a society where anarchy is not that far removed."
"It should not be available and it should not be available to young people."
"I don't play these games but if they are influencing kids to go out and kill people then you don't want them on the shelves."
Thankyou your honour, that is all.
Why do so many people blame videogames? And I don't just mean stupid journalists or politicians, why do parents genuinely believe that games cause murder.

Would you mind if I paid to watch you do that second last part?Attelia said:This is a little queer...
I wonder what game the child was playing? It has little relevance, but still circumstances could have been different. If the child was playing Dora the Explorer or something soft like that his reaction time would have been slow. If he had been playing Tekken 6 or if "I" was playing Tekken 6, it would have been different.
Playing Anna Williams as I normally do not only would I have noticed her trying to hit me from behind, I would have broken her arm in many different places and then danced seductively? I would like dream that I could do so anyway.
no the ALCOHOL stabbed the child, just like how guns kill peopleLittlee300 said:Didn't woman stab the child? /:JWAN said:Sony hopesfeebstalicious93 said:xbox 360 is the now
