I won't say I care about DNF enough to actually go some place to play it, but it struck me that, being in Brazil, I'm pretty much on the other side of the world for both of those events. Tough luck.

Well, I live in Brisbane and could go to this, but I most likely won't. It's a pretty small place, and I reckon the lineup will be pretty long, not to mention the hordes of nerds should I manage to get inside. I'll wait for the release and download a 'demo' before I spend a cent on that franchise.

What stood out to me about this is that Yahtzee's gonna do a Q&A with Randy Pittchford, A.K.A. the cringe-worthy dude from the Amsterdam viewing of DNF. The people demands video! :)

P.S. I'm sad that I live half-way around the world from Australia so visiting the Manabar isn't really an option. :(

So they'll be showing it in Australia, even if there is a risk it will be banned their when it is released?

Mr. Atkinson? You know that you wanted to keep out all those horrible games? You know, those 18 rated ones?

Well, a certain Mr. Croshaw and Mr. Pitchford are teabagging your corpse.

HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!

You all made fun of Australia, that we were a failure as a nation of gamers! Laugh now, all of you who aren't in Australia!

I can almost count the seconds until some twit mistakes my humour for me being serious and flaming me.

They should demo it in Houston. Everyone knows Houstonians are all clones of Sam Houston who was the basis for the character Duke Nukem. We practically invented the Scifi and industrial wasteland environments at port of houston and the houston space center.

Have fun playing a game that will never get released in your country. At least not until they dislodge the stick from their lawmakers ass.

Really I want to go play this/meet Yahtzee and this game will never make it to Australia. This game will also not be finished because gearbox will somehow go out of business for no reason at all.

if there was a Mana Bar relatively close to The Escapist headquarters I'd totally visit

They do know about this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/748-Duke-Nukem-Forever], right? Or are they doing this solely to make awkward conversations with the manager?
I think that's why...they wanna see if they can make him give the real game a good review...doubt it but stull ya never know.
I'm also sure Gearbox/3D Realms is aware of this:

As many of my correspondents have been quick to remind me with insufferable glee, the big story of this year's PAX was the announcement that Duke Nukem Forever is alive and kicking, penciled in for release in 2011 and being completed, courtesy of none other than Gearbox Software. Most will know them as the developers of Borderlands, although they started out as the developers of official expansion packs for Half-Life, such as Opposing Force and Blue Shift, and to me will always be "those guys who lived off Valve's run-offs."
It's nice to see that Randy Pitchford and Gearbox has a sense of humor. George Broussard and 3D Realms was known to get hostile, nasty, and threatening when people cracked jokes about their long development time.

Or they might just have a vendetta. I wouldn't put it past Pitchford [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmUJrKGN3C0] to bring a derringer to stage. In which case I hope somebody tapes and posts it on the Escapist.

Heh. The Mana bar.

Too bad it didn't open like 8 years ago...

You know, when I was a student at QUT...

In Brisbane. XD

Now I live in a different country half way across the planet.

Oh well.

I guess if I can't go bother Yahtzee, I can go stalk Rebecca Mayes instead.
I mean, she lives just around the corner really. XD
