Dwarf Fortress succession game

I'm relatively new here, so I've decided to start out with (hopefully) a bang. I've been around the internet, and I've noticed 2 things:

1: Dwarf Fortress is an AWESOME GAME and
2: Boatmurdered (here http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Boatmurdered/ ) is an awesome saga.

So, because It is SO awesome, I've decided to try my own hand at a Boatmurdered-like saga.

Now, the first question a few of you may ask is: "What the hell is 'Dwarf Fortress?'"

I feel the Dwarf Fortress Wiki (at the bottom of this post) does a dandy job of explaining things, as well as this: http://playthisthing.com/dwarf-fortress

After having read these I was wondering if you, too, wanted to play a succession style game. Read the informations, and If you want a turn, PM me (or... post here) turns will play like this:

1: You get fortress save.
2: You play fortress for a year in-game (don't forget to nickname your dwarf so we know who not to kill!) (also, SCREENSHOTS!!! this is one case where "pics or didnt happen" is in effect.)
3: When your year is up, post your happenings on the site, and the next person will play his turn from the save game you posted here. How? Follow the directions in boatmurdered: update 1.

Also, boatmurdered's rules (same place as the saving instructions) are in effect here.

Once we have six playas, I'll post the turn order here.

This seems incredibly complicated, but after reading the hilarious results from a previous Dwarf Fortress game, I am all ears for news of this becoming reality. Oh dear god, the elephants!

All right, I'll play. Bear in mind that my experience with Dwarf Fortress amounts to approximately five minutes of swearing at the world-creator, so things will probably get shot to hell during my reign. Not that that's a bad thing in a game like this.

Just for anyone who still needs help with some particulars of the game, search "Dwarf Fortress" on YouTube to find several video's that explain the games concepts and mechanics, and is very handy to watch if your still confused over some particulars of the game.

This thread is not dead, it's just that many of it's participants are recovering via copious alcohol consumption from a staggering amount of very boring studying followed by many, many tests on the material previously studied. Give it time old bean.

I think I pretty much have my head round DF, I've been studying the wiki and Captain Duck's videos for about a week and am almost on year 3 of my new fortress. n_n

Played it for quite a while, and have a couple stable fortresses going. I'll only jump in if I'm needed though. I don't know how long you plan on the succesion game being.
