Why didn't they take this slicing and put in the new kinect Star Wars game? It would fit perfectly there, instead of once again having to see the lightsaber unable to cut through things.

OT though, I never really liked MGS so this looks enjoyable even if it doesn't really deserve the MGS title.

I don't think this should be called Metal Gear Solid Rising, unless it features Solid Snake in at least a major supporting role, like MGS2 did. Really, if it's only Raiden, they should just call it Metal Gear Rising.

P.S. Thanks
Metal Gear Solid 3 didn't feature Solid Snake at all and it's the best game in the series by a mile.

THis however... I'm not holding out much hope for as an MGS game. 4 was a huge letdown for me and this really seems to have taken the same aproach but dialed it up to eleven.

Raiden also never sat right with me, robot ninja or not.

That looks pretty cool. Another thing I wonder. How does that guy have any depth perception if he's only got one eye?

That's kind of an arguable stretch. Sure, he's not technically the same person, but for all intents and purposes it's the exact same character.

As for why I think they are sticking with Metal Gear Solid? It's a brand name for them now. It's the same reason Call of Duty is still called Call of Duty despite the first games being set in WWII.

In finally get my light-saber game. Kinda funny that Raiden would be the first video game character to use a fully functional light-saber. Even funnier that its not a light-saber.

Im going to guess that the cutting system is to be controled with the thumbsticks, which can work i guess, but ill wait and see.

Oh yeah I agree. I was just pointing out it doesn't have to feature Snake to be pertinent. I'd say you learned more about Solid Snake in MGS3 than you did in any game that actually featured him.

I love how all it takes is 90 seconds of actual gameplay for some of you to speculate if this game deserves the MGS name....lets wait off on the pitchforks until we learn more about the game guys.

So, it's not a stealth game then? Well, it still looks cool though.

So does that mean Metal Gear 2: SOlid Snake should be called`"Metal Gear Solid 2: Solid Snake" or "Metal Gear 2 Solid: Solid Snake"?.

I don't care how much Kojima wants him to be, Raiden is not a valid substitute for Solid Snake.

Also, it's not a Metal Gear Solid game if the emphasis is almost 100% on running around blatantly severing buildings, cars, fruit, and appendages, rather than stealth.

You know I wasn't a big fan of MGS4 (I fucking hated it), though this game may just change my mind

Definitely a departure from the rest of the Metal Gear pedigree... interesting.

Would like to see how ol' Kojima does straight-up action in a series with established expectations

what happened to the whole anti war and anti violence messeges that were in every game, and the sneaking?
this just saddens me, i had never played a MGS game till i got a ps3 adn played number 4, i then went out and bought the essentials and loved every part of it and i got excited over one that would let me play as raiden since he was pretty awomse in number 4.
now i dont even know if i want this, and if the game turns out to be diffrent they should fire whoever made that trailer
