I watched the press conference online

I am extremely Jealous all of you at the conference got a 1 on 1 with very lovely looking ladies.....goddamn it

other things i noticed
- Miyamoto fails at gaming XD
- That wireless can someone interfere with the wii
- Nintendo should be called "The gaming recycler"

but what i find funny is how the heck that 3D is gonna work on a 3.5 INCH SCREEN....its not a laptop for god sakes
I can't believe you said Miyamoto fails at gaming. Are you living in an alternate dimension and your post just happen to cross into this dimension?

OT:Seriously, give Miyamoto some credit. Anyway, Nintendo does recycle but people act as if everything they recycle is trash. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Anyway Nintendo isn't focused on creating new ips but changing the way we game as a whole with motion controls and touchscreen. The new stuff which most gamers complain about.

Other developers and franchises that have signed on to the 3DS include Kingdom Hearts (Square Enix), Resident Evil (Capcom), Saints' Row (THQ), and Metal Gear Solid (Konami).

The 3DS will also play 3D movies, like How To Train Your Dragon - but will it play Avatar?
I'm sold. They just needed to mention Saints Row: SR2 is one of my favorite games from this generation.

This is the kind of 3rd party support they need to get for the wii: we need Saint Rows, Fallouts, and Modern Warfares.

One thing's for sure: this will be more expensive than any ds.

Oh Nintendo when will you do away with the terrible gimmicks and just focus on quality games.
Are you kidding me? Discarding the 3D aspect, it's a portable Wii! Plus the line-up of games (MGS, Resi Evil, Street Fighter, Kingdom Hearts etc.) and Kid f*cking Icarus means that they not only focused on quality games, but what they and the rest of the industry considers innovation as well. If this "gimmick" is anything like the Wii, it'll sell millions and be hugely successful.

You should have just watched the keynote, trust me you wouldn't have said that if you did.
It wouldn't matter if I watched the keynote or if Miyamoto was standing in my living room explaining it to me while he rubbed my feet. The fact of the matter is that pure quality gaming without any bad gimmicks will ALWAYS win out over the current flavor of the month gimmick. It doesn't matter if it's a glove, a robot, a rubber mat you run in place on or a freaking bazooka, gimmicks typically don't work when it comes to video games. Even the Wii, while financially successful, is shunned largely by most actual gamers because it's a Gamecube with a bad gimmick.

I MUST GET ALL NEW NINTENDO GAMES! I MUST!!!!!

I was hoping the 3DS wouldn't look like the DS, I was hoping they'd change it up somehow... Oh well, Let's see if the DS's successor can rock as hard as the DS is/did.

A lot of haters in this topic.

It was a pretty good conference. And with the amount of 3DS's they had out I suspect we'll soon be able to read about how good the 3D part is.

Main thing I want to see is how it works...ie/ can people with sight problems and lazy eye use it
That's what I want to know. It pains me that all the glasses do for me is make it not blurry.

So you can now watch some 3D movies on it? And 3D games?

Don't people realize 3D sucks ass?

I've never been interested in the DS, and this isn't going to make me. But I guess it's not really marketed towards core gamers.

What's the gimmick here, can I ask?

It can't be 3D, because you can turn it off if you want. Ergo, the games have to be developed to be perfectly playable without the 3D aspect at all. It's just a way to add depth of field.

Both parralax view, and autostereoscopic images are easier to pull off on smaller screens. Those are two meathods of using a screen to make 3D images on a screen without glasses.

Oh and guys who hate 3d or have sight problems, you can toggle how much 3d you want at any time or turn it off entirely.
But then they wouldn't be able to complain at Nintendo's near flawless event. And this being the internet, everyone must complain about something!
I want to complain about everyone complaining on the internet. It just bugs me so much, they have no respect for me and the fact that I don't want to hear them complain!

From the looks of it, that joy stick is going to be even worse than the PSP's, but I still think this is pretty cool. Maybe the 3D won't work, but from what I've heard, it's backwards compatible with the entire DS library, meaning if the 3D's a flop, Nintendo could just pretend it never happened and keep releasing 2D games for it. As far as I'm concerned, this paired with Kid Icarus makes this a must-buy for me.

Apparently, early Twitterati reports seem to be very positive about the 3D aspect.

I'd say Nintendo is the hot favourite to win E3 now. I can't see how Sony can top that, knowing Move will enevitably be the main attraction and I doubt their games will be anything we haven't seen on the Wii.

Come again? Your kidding right. They are naming it the 3DS for Christ sake. Just because you can turn it off doesn't make it any less another gimmick in a ever growing line of bad gimmicks Nintendo seems hell bent on using dating all the way back to the useless plastic robot.

I am very impressed with Nintendo's conference this year, MUCH better than the years past. I am still extremely skeptical about the 3DS for reasons probably already mentioned, but it's nice to see all those developers supporting the handheld with actual games.

I hope that Sony has its own share of surprises in store for us...at least it should be better than Microsoft's.
