I mean no offense when I say you are clearly too young to remember the 'cola wars'.ToastiestZombie said:So Escapees, what do you think of this blatantly childish tagline?
Well why is Battlefield in competition with COD, because it's a very popular game and they want a piece of the pie, and the only really useful way to get that piece is by attacking the other game.Rawne1980 said:You're looking at it wrong.ToastiestZombie said:Still, what did CoD do to deserver being attacked by another company just because its popular.
They are not attacking it because it's popular they are attacking it because it's competition.
The same way fighters trash talk before a big fight.
Got any way you could tell i'm a CoD fanboy in that post, and whats stopping me from saying that you are a battlefield fanboy because you defended what EA is doing? Seriously now, im not a fanboy for either games, im just saying that EA attacking CoD is uncalled for and I am quite annoyed (not butt hurt) by it.razer17 said:Alright Mister fanboy, seems someone has forgotten all the mud Activision has been slinging at BF3.
Also, Above and beyond the call is a pretty common phrase.
They seem to not be doing what the Ford commercial is and doing what you're second point was saying. If in the trailer they said BF3 has bigger maps, better graphics and a better mp than Cod" then I wouldn't be annoyed, but they're just attacking it for no point other than to attack something.Braedan said:I don't see how this is any worse than a Ford commercial saying "The F150 has a higher towing capacity than the Dodge Ram, and better fuel economy than the GMC Sierra".
Now if they were actually saying "Don't buy a Ram because it's poop and looks like bum!" that would be different, but a casual dig... not a big deal man...
PS: Sega does what Nintendon't.
Haha! But i'm not sure what you mean by they are grape farmers, if anything I would appreciate them because they make the main ingredient of wine, and I love to eat a whole bunch of grapes in one sitting! You couldn't do that without those hard workin' grape farmers!DarkRyter said:No reason? More like NO RAISIN?
Get it? Raisin?
EA is a bunch of grape farmers.
It's not childish, its just business, when your trying to take down a titan you can expect things like this to occur.ToastiestZombie said:Having just saw the new tv spot for bf3, and having seen the new tagline. Which is "above and beyond the call", and obvious dig at CoD. Seriously EA and/or Dice, this is just starting to be you attacking the CoD series like a little kid, the tagline might as well say "buy bf3, because CoD is a pile of doody. Say What you want about CoD or Activision, when was the last time they purposefully attacked any game EA has made, and does Activision do already on disc DLC or online codes, no they dont.
Heres my source: http://kotaku.com/5843892/battlefield-3s-latest-tv-spot-goes-above-and-beyond-the-call
So Escapees, what do you think of this blatantly childish tagline?
[EDIT] Well, I admit it wasn't that childish, but its just the fact they used 99 problems as their song, and 99 problems to me is a terrible song. Also, if you were to look into it further you could say that the ***** is actually CoD, so they might be saying that CoD is not a problem to them. Or that's just me over thinking things
I just see them saying above and beyond the call (of duty), not saying call of duty is shit. Of course they want you to buy their product over the competition, and if that's the worst they're going to do... well then it's not a big deal...ToastiestZombie said:They seem to not be doing what the Ford commercial is and doing what you're second point was saying. Because you seem to ignore the fact that both are doing it as much as each other. EA is mocking CoD, Activision is mocking Battlefield, it's pretty childish on both fronts. I'm not defending EA, I'm just saying they are as bad as each other.ToastiestZombie said:Got any way you could tell i'm a CoD fanboy in that post, and whats stopping me from saying that you are a battlefield fanboy because you defended what EA is doing? Well look at it this way, A kid has just beat up another kid . When he is being asked why he did it by his teacher/parent he says "Well the kid was the most popular kid in school and I wanted to be popular so I attacked him". Sounds a lot like what EA is tying to do in their advertising campaign.weker said:It's not childish, its just business, when your trying to take down a titan you can expect things like this to occur.
Trying to compare business to children or people I find silly, business is there to be successful, calling thing childish or trying to label it with human attributes over simplifies it.ToastiestZombie said:Well look at it this way, A kid has just beat up another kid .
