How could nobody at EA not see how 'Booty' could be misconstrued when they had just said the phrase "acts of lust"?

Although... Heh heh. Booty.
I think that was the point. You know, the whole double entendre deal?

To me it looks like someone at EA thought something like "Hay. Gamers love booth babes, and we want them to love are game. So lets put the two together!"

I think they handled the whole thing poorly; the initial concept, the phrasing, and the execution. When Comic-Con comes around I won't be surprised if more drama ensues when nerd and booth babe meet in great rubbing of parts.

I want to point out one other thing as well, some female fans might of done this to. Yeah, not so preachy now are you?

Using a "tramp stamp" in your game marketing? Real classy there, EA.

EDIT: Oh, wait, nevermind, those are clavicles hence that's front cleavage rather than rear cleavage. Still real classy there, EA.

I am no EA fan, but they have the right of free speech. They can say whatever they freaking want!

Booth Babes have a hard enough time staying on the "Eye Candy" side of the line, while fanboys try to get all touchie-feelie. Now their employer is doing a promotion like this? I think they would agree this is NOT what they signed up for. And I don't think it's hypocritical at all to say EA is out of line. They screwed up with the brass knuckles. They screwed up with the "fake Christian picket line" outside of EA, and now they've screwed up with Lustgate.

Srsly EA, time for new marketing people.

I think EA learned a valuable lesson today.

If you tell anyone who attends Comic-Con to "commit acts of lust," chances are they won't read the fine print.
I think this is the most sensible opinion offered thus far. I give credit to a big corporate entity like EA having the cojones to take a risk of offending the Moral Guardians. Much as it confuses my worldview to say so, EA's really turned their image for the better over the past ten months or so (since Spore came out and put EA at a low point.)

Well, I thought the wording was quite clever, given the premise, although the lusty bitz would be better suited for a piratical game.

Maybe, but, it's just seems hypocritical to me that a press that doesn't shame them for the very concept of booth babes would freak out over this.
This - and frankly, anyone whining over the fact that *shock-horror* EA admitted Booth Babes are using sex appeal for selling games is frankly very naive or very hypocritical.
Yeah, let's face it: they got in trouble for admitting what something really is. The ones who should be ashamed are the press.
Amen! I've personally seen booth babes once before and I have to say that I dislike them - not at the time or the individual person, because the individual person is just doing their job and at the time I'm dumb struck by the effect of their sex appeal - but I hate booth babes because they make me feel the truth of what they are; platforms for manipulating us on a very basic level us guys have little or no defense over.

What is with EA and this damn game? First E3's "Protesters," and now this? Why can't they just show trailers and give out T-shirts like a normal marketing campaign?
