This is just stupid. EA, this will just push away customers and push more people to piracy. Because the pirates don't have to worry about you shutting them out of the game.

Just unbelievable. Actually, I can believe it. This is EA after all.
And, again, the poor opressed BioWare are largely unmentioned in this thread.

This is not directed at you, by the way. Just the general consensus.

Anyone minds doing a little bit of exploring? There is more to that story, and that guy knows it, maybe if actually used logic instead of his kidney as a brain, this wouldn't have happened.
Okay I've trawled a bit (protip:Google caches all Bioware's threads even the deleted ones) and those that have been through his post history say:

"tez20 you aren't going to be the next SBN martyr if that's what your aiming for.

The ban was pretty much justified for your constant troll posts and not producing proper arguments instead resulting in ad hominem and insulting the posters themselves instead of their arguments."

Everyone in that thread keeps telling him how to fix it so he can play but he keeps ignoring it (I assume trolling).

The cache of his complaint thread is here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...l=uk&client=firefox-a&source=www.google.co.uk To change page right click the page number and "copy link location" paste to google then click the cache.

It is apparent from the email in my opinion. It says right there in the screenie:
"This action was taken due to the severity and number of violations of our terms of service the most recent violations leading to this action include:
"inappropriate post"

I live near Bioware Edmonton... maybe I can go over there, pay them sixty bucks and get a shiny new copy of DA2 without any of my money going to EA...
You do know that Bioware is just a par of EA right? So any money that goes to them is going to EA.

He can play his game, he just needs to make a new account.

No, they're just acting stupid.
Look at Cascade's post.
Makes you wonder if it's all a martyr act.

In any case, this is bad press for EA, so I assume they'll have their webheads to attempt to seperate forum access and game access. There's no benefit to EA for continuing it.

We need Shepard to burst into the Bioware offices and use a Paragon interrupt.

It should cause him to lecture them about basic respectable business practice. With stern looks.
And maybe follow up by punching the marketing head in the jaw. It would still count as Paragon in my books...

Well, I can understand your observation, in that good things are Bioware's doing and things that are disliked are said to be EAs doing, which is mostly untrue. However, it's kinda a clear cut in this situation. The authentication and website account features are manned by employees of EA, and not their subsidiary, Bioware.

Or to simplify it, yeah, the mods work at Edmonton and do give out the bans for trolling and threats. The designers who linked forum access to the EA accounts do not.

I wouldn't even touch the service that uses the same accounts for forums and for digital distribution.

Note that it is EA's doing, not Bioware's. He even admits to name calling, although to be honest, it was probably justified.
He admitted that he insulted people who were insulting Bioware devs. So, he insulted people in Bioware's favor. Or something like that.

Nice job EA. You just keep raising the bar of customer service.
/sarcasm

I'd like to say that I hope they'd straighten up soon, but there really is no hope when the publisher in question is EA.

"Because the BioWare community now operates under the same umbrella as all EA Communities, community members here have all explicitly agreed to abide by and be governed by both sets of rules. Consider it an added incentive to follow the rules you say you're going to follow."

Stanley Woo, from BioWare.

Yes, this is EA's idea. Doesn't mean BioWare totally have nothing to do with that.

Or maybe it does. I dunno. Maybe they're too busy posting reviews of their own games to actually notice. [footnote]No, I don't hate BioWare. [/footnote]
