EA bans another DA2 customer

The first guy was temporarily suspended from his games, this guy got a permanent ban.

As last time: Don't really care for the poor soul... Never met the person, never met his problems, never mingled with my own problems... Whatever happened they could have stopped before going through with their plan. Like "Will this help? Will this change EA? Or will this just get my sorry ass banned from their games?" Anyone minds doing a little bit of exploring? There is more to that story, and that guy knows it, maybe if actually used logic instead of his kidney as a brain, this wouldn't have happened.

Okay I've trawled a bit (protip:Google caches all Bioware's threads even the deleted ones) and those that have been through his post history say:

"tez20 you aren't going to be the next SBN martyr if that's what your aiming for.

The ban was pretty much justified for your constant troll posts and not producing proper arguments instead resulting in ad hominem and insulting the posters themselves instead of their arguments."

Everyone in that thread keeps telling him how to fix it so he can play but he keeps ignoring it (I assume trolling).

The cache of his complaint thread is here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...l=uk&client=firefox-a&source=www.google.co.uk To change page right click the page number and "copy link location" paste to google then click the cache.

It is apparent from the email in my opinion. It says right there in the screenie:
"This action was taken due to the severity and number of violations of our terms of service the most recent violations leading to this action include:
"inappropriate post"

This isn't enough to ban someone from their game.

I'm sorry, but no, you can't stop someone from using their product just because they're an asshole.
Its just not on.

If you read the thread you'd see he isn't banned from the game. People have told him (about 7-8 pages worth) how to fix it so he can play the game. All he has is a forum account banning. Basically all he has to do is to play without signing in or just re-register his games to his new forum account (that he is posting with). Even after 8 odd pages he is ignoring their advice and not even acknowledging people have offered solutions which makes me think he is either a) playing the martyr card or b) "trolling his merry way through the thread" (quote courtesy of a user in the cache).

Fixed. It's in the terms of service for the whole of EA. Probably affects console versions too. Certainly was the case since at least Bad Company 2.

Judging from the copy of the email attached, this isn't about a user making ONE post... more likely this is EA's attempt at banning a regular forum troll that he's trying to turn against him, kind of like that one hacker shit trying get a mod in trouble for banning him after he FLAUNTED HIS HACKED MACHINE in front of him.

So you can purchase a game, which becomes your property... But then for a forum post you can have your rights to play said game and partake in some of it's features (Which you may or may not have bought the game for)

I understand that being banned from the forums for inappropriate post is a necessary thing sometimes, but it is overboard to make a persons games in accessible because of forum offenses. This is getting ridicules and out of hand.

As digital gaming becomes more common you can expect more extreme legislation.

They'll blame piracy, but that's been the scapegoat since before the N64 was floating around. "You can't return your games cause you may have copied the cartridge."

Yes, sure, that's what I did.

Once hard copies of games do go the way of the dodo people will slowly start accepting more and more extreme restrictions.

That's what consumers tend to do it appears. Regardless of the market.

Funny. I had a banned forum account but I can still use all my games and DLC.
Must have changed since then (or I had a temp suspension... hmm.)
