Heh, someone is working on their reputation.

Well, fine move, but fuck you EA, I paid for the game back then, I don't want unworthy peasants to have the same joy I had.
Here here!

This is cool. I've never played any of the command and conquer games so I think I'll give this a go.

Tiberian Sun free? Firestorm expansion free as well?

O_O

SWEET!

Now you can ALL see who the better Brotherhood of Nod commander was!

Slavik was and still is my favourite Nod commander. He had charisma and all-round bad-assery. His Nod forces were quite military-like in nature, not just a massive mob of armed uptight civilians with guns supported by handfuls of elite infantry like the modern Brotherhood. Also, he actually had a sense of honour, and didn't betray GDI when CABAL was finally put down by a joint assault. It sucks that he was killed by one of Brother Marcion's suicide bombers. A shitty death for someone so awesome.

The YouTube channel DieOfGoodLuck has all the Tiberian Sun and Tiberian Dawn FMVs. I sometimes watch them to remind myself of what Nod was like before, when they were in good hands. I mean, I could go back and re-play through Tiberian Sun and Firestorm again (it's already been installed on this machine for months now), but I can't be assed.

Another reason I liked Tiberian Sun was Kane. He had a far better outfit than he did in Tiberium Wars, and his lines were even better as well.

"If I am cut, do I not BLEED?"
"I am disappointed."
"Perhaps when McNeil arrives to kill you you'll take some time to learn from the man, I'm sure he'll teach you lessons that you'll carry for the rest of your life...which, by the way, is about 7 minutes."

Also, CABAL was awesome.

"Listen to the sounds of your own extinction."

It's good to hear that line in his original voice rather than in the new voice he was given in Kane's Wrath.

No Red Alert 2?

You're scum, EA. Scum! And I as the non paying customer demand that RA2 be available!

Very neat, but personally I've always preferred Red Alert 2.

*waits for that to become free too*
It's only a matter of time.

I purchased both TibSun and Firestorm years ago but had since lost the discs in the mists of time and moving house five times. I've...already completed the Nod Campaign for both Sun and Firestorm and have moved onto the GDI campaign.

For the Technology of Peace!

It's interesting how C&C3 both kept the sci-fi aspect of Sun (with the Scrin and whatnot) but still moved the aesthetics closer to what we're used to, whereas Sun feels far more 'classic' sci-fi futuristic in their depictions of weapons and equipment. To me, at least.

Whats with all these companies giving away free games all of a sudden...

I bet they are trying to sweeten us up before telling us that games will now be sold for $99.99!

Really though, I won't turn down a freebee

Here I was hoping that the headline meant they gave away the rights to it to another company.
You know, one that doesn't completely screw up every game they're involved with.

I didn't like RA3 because the damned units seemed to have such short ranges. It would have played better had the units been a quarter of their size while keeping the range.

ahh, i had some fun with this game, its not the best one by far but I had fun with some skirmishes.

I like the way they make C&C games free after abit of time, i no its to build up fans for C&C4 but i dont care :D

I just downloaded the first C&C about 3 weeks back and having a blast, I do hope C&C4 is better than what ive heard about it...

Nice, but I'm expecting that they haven't put TCP/IP multiplayer in. Expect your LAN parties to break unless you know how to get IPX working.

Wait, wait, so EA axes online multiplayer support for a number of fairly recent titles, presumably to cut bandwidth/manpower costs, and then goes through the trouble of releasing even older games for free, with multiplayer a la carte? I'm very confused.

Oh well, it's a nice gesture, i suppose.

EDIT: I have a broken DLL error message upon bootup as well. Bummer.
