Wait, wait, so EA axes online multiplayer support for a number of fairly recent titles, presumably to cut bandwidth/manpower costs, and then goes through the trouble of releasing even older games for free, with multiplayer a la carte? I'm very confused.

Oh well, it's a nice gesture, i suppose.

EDIT: I have a broken DLL error message upon bootup as well. Bummer.

As do I, specifically why I found this thread again ( yay for lurking!) how does one fix?

I was able to make it run. I did a number of things, so i'm not sure exactly what fixed the problem. But I went into the Command & Conquer: Decades folder and changed folder permissions to Full Control for all users. I also went and found the original Game.exe file, and made it always run as Admin and run in compatibility mode for Windows 95. I use Vista, and it runs fine now.

EA you've fooled me too many times. We're past the point of forgiveness at any cost.

Two things:

1) EA redesigned their site, and the game is no longer available from their EA classic site, but you can still get it (legally) from sites like Fileplanet: http://www.fileplanet.com/210105/210000/fileinfo/Command-&-Conquer:-Tiberian-Sun---Full-Game-Client

2) While the game does run on both 64 bit and 32 bit windows the Geek.com post does not specify HOW to get it to run. Simply right click on your Game.exe in your SUN folder and select run as administrator and Windows XP compatibility. This likely applies to Vista users as well.

Enjoy!
