Man, that is awesome, they are standing up for our medium and even used the words ''creative'' and ''artists''. Good job EA.

Love the "less is more" type response from EA, rather than going into a mud slinging match they just stated the facts and moved the fuck on!

Well done EA

I'm just surprised that there is no slander/libel lawsuit. It was a pretty harsh thing to get into.

Fox News is an oxymoron. Fox idiotic opinions....but there's never been real news on that channel. The Worst Part is these f^$*s are getting paid to misinform and incite fear.

Fox news is like a kid seeking negative attention...They will say and do the most F^$*ed up things in order to get you attention. They only way to rid ourselves of these morons is to ignore them, because you cannot argue with a sick mind.

I think what Fox is getting held up at is the idea that all GAMES are for CHILDREN, regardless of their rating or the intended audience. This logic is obviously wrong, but they are playing on all the suspicious mothers/fathers/grandparents that buy into this because they never played video games. A lot of us on the forum grew up/are growing up playing video games, so its obvious to us that there are very distinct differences between Bulletstorm and Bejeweled. And a lot of parents today don't take the time to really research what their kids are playing.

So, while Fox news is wrong, and a pain, and spreading sensational lies, in a sense its a wake up call for parents to actually pay attention to what their kids are doing. Granted, this should be handled by them NOT blaming EA, or rape, or some other scapegoat, but by not allowing their child to play until they are old/mature enough. Somewhere along the way, people need to learn that some games, like some movies (as the EA rep pointed out), are for ADULTS.

I'm surprised Fox News is still going, they're an international joke.
My Dad is a fan of Fox news and Glenn Beck, makes me fucking sick and kind of scared, since he's an intelligent person.

Anyway, good for EA, they stayed professional and used examples.
My uncle is like that. He honestly believes that Glenn Beck is the most intelligent man in the US and everything he says should be treated like the gospel.
Well, my dad takes the "I know he's crazy, but his ideas are still good" approach, but that's still enough to scare the shit out of me.
At least it sounds like he scares you in the right way: in that it's scary how many people take him seriously.

The problem is that he (and others at Fox) get a lot of noermal right leaning people paranoid and frightened for their freedoms and their lives by overblowing their outrage over things like gay marriage and making up things like Death Panels.

I like conspiracy theories and everything but these dbags not only make them up but try and get people to believe they're facts.

I don't think the FCC should take them off the air but they should make them stop calling it news. They could call it Fox Right Wing Propaganda or Fox Conspiracies or Foxin Nuts.
Any government regulation is just going to give them ammunition for their paranoia.

What we need is for someone to initiate a large scale smear campaign
That shouldn't even be necessary.
They're constantly shooting themselves in the foot, putting their foot in their mouths, and wearing their feet on their sleeves.
I'm amazed people still take them seriously.

Cant ESRB, Epic, People Can Fly and EA all sue for slander, libel, and negligent misrepresentation? Fox news needs to have their broadcast license revoked.

Yeah, but thats the point, if the stupid parents weren't paying attention in the first place, they won't now suddenly, and even if they do they'll just go "Omg, games are so violent these days, they should all be banned, our children need to be protected from these developers", yeah, because EA will be kicking down your door and personally handing your children a copy of Bulletstorm.

The whole thing is one big joke, Fox news just wants something interesting to report about other than nonsense as usual -_-

Going through life, one quickly learns that people who pride themselves on high moral standards are frequently people who only apply those standards to others.

It's amazing how this TV station, that doesn't even air in Poland, has already gained my negative opinion.

Speaking as a Brit, I find glenn beck HILARIOUS. I honestly can't understand how he could be taken seriously. At first i literally thought he was a satireist.
I'm also a Brit, and I found the same thing. Then I had the frightening realization that there are people who listen to this guy very seriously despite the fact that he's clearly a raving lunatic.

What's really pathetic is that they're not complaining about violence or gore, they're complaining about the one thing mature videogames keep avoiding: sexuality.
Like the subject being a taboo wasn't already bad enough, there's also those idiots making a moral panic every half year.

And another thing: IF YOUR KIDS BUYS A MATURE VIDEOGAME WITH YOUR MONEY, don't blame videogames for YOU BEING A BAD PARENT.
If your kid starts smoking and you don't approve it, YOU are the negligent parent; it's not the cigarretes' fault.

WHY DOESN'T ANYBODY FUCKING READ THE FOX NEWS ARTICLE. THE LATTER HALF IS ABOUT WHY IT IS A TERRIBLE IDEA TO GIVE THIS GAME TO FUCKING CHILDREN.

Because you used all-caps. And because Faux News is only slightly more valid a source than the Weekly World News. And because Faux News has blown this call before, with Mass Effect, in roughly the same way. And because "the latter half" is past the point that most of Fox's mouth-breathing audience will read.

The only good thing our Libel laws have ever done.
I'm not sure if the massive infringement on freedom of speech is really worth it though?

I like that response. Its measured, considered, doesn't rise to the ridiculousness of Fox's claims and explains very well why such demonizing of games is patently flawed.

This is how to deal with Fox, don't rise to their bullying just keep calm, remain rational and stay content in the knowledge that you're better than them.
