Now I can't wait for Yahtzee to review Dante's Inferno.

Seriously, I was at work when I read this, and it instantly made my day.

An interesting idea but I don't think it conveys the idea of rage very well. Although Yahtzee's review epitomizes rage your description makes this sound more like a surgical smash and wire removal rather then a mindless fury of blows and wild smashes to stop the madness. Also, You guys all work in the same office? I always though of it a bit differently. (like mount Olympus).

This is just like the time EA absolutely SERVED Fox News over that Mass Effect incident.
I wouldn't say EA exactly owned Fox. I love that they defended BioWare very well, but I would have loved for EA to take Fox's offer and defend them on air.

But still, I respected EA for what they did.

He very clearly was intended to smash the box with a hammer, as it was included in the fucking box, so the "you are guilty of the sin of wrath" thing is kinda ineffectual. The music couldn't be turned off without breaking the mechanism, and it came with a hammer. I mean, anyone would've done the same. This is just EA's way of "cleverly" wreaking petty revenge on Yahtzee for openly expressing how much he hates them, while simultaneously advertising an upcoming game of theirs. It's like teepeeing his house and writing the words "Frank Gibeau Rulez" on his front yard.

And another thing, why Rickrolling? The fad is dead! It's over! It peaked when Rick Astley HIMSELF Rickrolled the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade a year or two ago.

"Besides, it's not every day you get to see Yahtzee smash something to bits with a hammer."

Really? I would think that if not every day, then at least every week...

This made me giggle ^_^
Also, now that EA have had the sheer gall to RR game critics, I have raised my opinions of them. Im hoping they'll put as much effort into the game as they have this elaborate prank.

You have to hand it to EA. Their marketing campaign for this game is absolutely genius.

And Yahtzee demolished that bloody box.
I would have paid money to see his reaction and then smashing of that box.

Not gonna lie. That's pretty awesome. Rick Astley's music certainly drives me to fits of rage. I was going to ignore this game. If the people behind it are that creative, however, I may have to give it at least a brief look.

I'm not sure what's worse, the fact that I'm impressed by EAs marketing with this game or the ironic twist that will be this game will be banned from Australia so he'd have to import it anyway?

Perhaps from GAME TRADERS ROBINA!!!
Perhaps he'll take it to MY FRIEND GUY'S HOUSE.

I feel like if the game gets a lot of good press he won't ignore reviewing the game. He won't avoid a review just because they pranked him and let him fall right into their trap.
It's good to see game publishers taking Yahtzee seriously as a game reviewer... now maybe they'll listen to some of his advice.
And I may as well get my two cents in: I don't think EA are the big, bad, video-game spamming monsters that everyone fondly remembers them to be anymore. Sure they churn out some repetitive games (EA Sports, mostly), but they're trying to be better people now.

Fuck using a hammer! I'd straight up punt that ***** out of the nearest window! But then I'd feel bad for giving up such a neat box...I mean, it never let me down or anything! Oh well. At least you get a sweet hammer, right?
