K I'll post my character in an hour which I had a question about. Could the laser rifle be used as a sniper?
I would love to have included a sniper class in general but, I don't predict there really being much use for it but I'm sure I can add one or two in. Would you be happy to possibly find a sniper rifle along the way?

It's dandy. Welcome in.
That would be fantastic

Name: Michael Gonzales
Age: 22
Class: Soldier
Appearance: 5"9, lean athletic build. Has short black hair which he keeps covered by a baseball cap with striking gray eyes.
Background: Michael was born into a lower class neighborhood plagued by crime and violence. He lived having to toil for everything and showed that when he joined the military. Setting himself apart from the rank and file, Michael excelled as a soldier and marksman which allowed him to be selected for Earth-Moon....

Acceptable?

Just one more until we can get this thing going! You're welcome to choose any class but another doctor would really even things out.

STARTED

-------------

You are mid-flight aboard the Lunar-Commander drop-off ship. Lt. Murphy enters.

"At ease, EM-1! Welcome aboard the Lunar-Commander. You're already briefed on the mission but let's recap. Your goal is to find out what in dang hell is going down on the Moon. We don't know what's happened up there but it's safe to say it's some pretty fucked up shit.

Your top priority is to locate and round up any survivors. Our thermal-scan of the surface doesn't show any deep pockets of life but that doesn't mean there aren't none. Priority number 2 is to find out why they aint gettin' in touch. Communications ceased years ago and you need to find out why. Be prepared for an update on your goals.

We're almost at the Moon's ship-port. So you pussies can get to know each other whilst I brief the other squads."

Lt. Murphy exits the room

Michael laughed quietly to himself, enjoying the fact that their CO could inject a bit of levity into the situation. He was a bit uneasy about the mission. What would they find? Would anyone still be alive to save?

Looking up, he glanced briefly at the five other soldiers in the hold with him. Sighing he said, "I'm Michael, what's up with you guys, any thoughts on the mission?"

"So...if we don't find survivors...we STILL need to find out why they ain't squawking?" Dek asks, still lying virtually flat on the chair, hearing Michael's question he turns his head to face him.

"Name's Dekres, but call me Dek," he grins, sticking his thumb up, "standard sweep and rescue I'd guess," he shrugs picking himself up, "nothing special..."

"I hope they didn't send up here on a wild goose chase. You got a point though, if everyone is dead then why would we need to figure out their communication issues. It's not like they are going to send anyone up here with the chance of another shines outbreak."

Michael lay back, attempting to enjoy the last brief moments of comfort before they reached the port. He glanced back at Dek, "Is there a chance of us getting shines?"

"What are we going to do with survivors anyway? I thought we didn't know anything about shines. And isn't this 'rescue mission' slightly belated? We lost contact 60 years ago!" Dan tilted his head back and stared at the ceiling. "There's something off about this whole mission."

"The Shines is my job" said Jon, 'I'm Jon, but you can call me Doc if it helps. I'm here to make sure none of you die, and see what i can find out about the Shines"

The ship starts to rumble.

"EM-1, we are hovering above your drop-off. MOVE OUT!" - Intercom

The squad air-drop and land on an outdoor ship-pad, a large concrete square surface with heavy fencing around the border. Apart from the huge glass dome spanning further than your eyes can see and the surface being mainly rock, the resemblence to Earth is uncanny. There is a heavy door to the East (artificial) leading into the Spaceport. It is currently night time.

Jon gets to his feet then crosses to the door, try it to see if it opens

"Do we know what condition things are in here?" he asked, "Will all the doors open for us, or is everything broken and decrepit?"

Dan cradled his rifle lightly in his arms and looked around. The air was incredibly still and gave the landing pad an eerie quality. He turned when he heard Jon's question.

"Nah, we're here blind Doc."
