Saint Peter (the first Pope) was a rabbit. Peter Rabbit. The Pope's hat only makes sense when you realise it was intended to be worn by a creature with big pointy ears. The Easter Bunny is the descendant of of Peter, and hence is the true Pope.

I don't doubt that opiates were in widespread use, and still are, in that part of the world, but would there really have been no marijuana? Magic mushrooms too, in north and east Africa.

It's simple. The Easter Bunny has a moral obligation to give away all of that chocolate. How else are kids going to be exposed to it's awesomeness without some sort of bunny giving it away for them? Hmmm?
