You mean Hentai (creator put in asylum part)? Hentai originated, or rather, specifically, the first known case/picture of tentacle porn originated as an old Wood Painting from I believe the 1800's. It was called "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife." It had a women and, if I remember correctly, an Octupus having sex. Tentacle Porn, or, rather, Tentacle Hentai, in the 1800's. It essentially created Japanese culture are now know it.Indigo_Dingo said:There is nothing that Japanese culture can ever produce, including nintendo, that can make up for releasing Hentai upon this world. I'm amazed that the first person to come up with that wasn't placed in an insane asylum.
Don't get me wrong. I don't watch Hentai either. I watch Anime. That's why I was annoyed at my friend for tricking me like that. He knew that I don't watch Hentai. Anyway, the blood one is called Guro. Only reason i know that is 'cause that term actually originated here in america (I think), and doesn't necessarily have to be a sexual thing.Indigo_Dingo said:If its all the same to you, I won't watch it. I have enough mental problems without an irrational homicidal rage against all Japanese people. And I don't just mean tentacle porn. I have only what I've heard from some friends, but I hear it also includes the following.
X-Ray hentai - shows whats happeniing inside the females organs during intercourse.
Dickgirls - Girls with penises raping other girls with penises
I don't know the term, but a form that shows a girls body mutilated, as in freshley amputated, using a surgical saw or tablesaw.
I have no idea if any of these exist, and I pray to God they do not.
Yeah, from what I saw in School Days (which has hentai, but is actually classified as a Drama, plus fastforward is most useful for parts you don't wanna see) so is the x-ray, and go to wikipedia and type in "Bible Black," and you'll learn that so is Futa/Futanari (the girls with extra parts one)...Indigo_Dingo said:Oh man, Its real? I think a part of me just died.
Ah, but people have said that those who play Horrifically violent video games (Gears of War, God of War), for example) have a mental illness, and I really enjoy both God and Gears of War. In the end, if someone else enjoys it, they can watch it. Just don't show it to me (or you), and were cool.Indigo_Dingo said:Thus, we see there is a problem. In my personal opinion this really should be characterized as a mental illness, with forms of rehabilitation and therapy available.
Are you serious? Who cares what porn an adult watches? It's not like octopus rape is on the rise.Indigo_Dingo said:No, we're not. Human sexuality is a much more serious part of their makeup than hobbies. Linking it to such...abominations against nature is ...well, I don't really have access to cases at the moment, but you get the point.
hahaha this reminds me of that south park episode (also about japanese anime) "Guess they don't care about violence if there's sex things to worry about" or somethingNo, we're not. Human sexuality is a much more serious part of their makeup than hobbies. Linking it to such...abominations against nature is ...well, I don't really have access to cases at the moment, but you get the point.
hehe i couldn't agree more, whatever someone fatasies are, as long as they keep them to themselves and don't infringe upon anybody else with them then its no skin off my back. What you think we should call the thought police or something?Joe said:Are you serious? Who cares what porn an adult watches? Child pornography is criminal because children are being forced/coerced into committing sexual acts. Cartoons depicting tentacle rape, or children having sex, isn't illegal because no one's actually committing sexual acts. Even if it's icky.Indigo_Dingo said:To the "leave them alone and hope they leave us alone" argument: I don't see why something as equally wrong, such as Child Pornography, is punished by a prison sentence. Surely if we are punishing people for a deep perversion in one area, we should allow equal punihment in others.
And I was misleading you before, I have been tricked into looking at some of that stuff. I know what I saw, and it is far more disgusting than you'd think. There is stuff out there that actually made me projectile vomit when I saw it. There is stuff that seemed to scar my soul.
In which jurisdiction? Cartoon child porn is in fact legal to possess and create, again as long as real children aren't involved.Indigo_Dingo said:Actually, yeah it is. The simple act of possesion of child pronogtraphy - not the manufacture of it - is illegal, and punishable by a prison sentence. The same also applies to hentai pedophilia, also known as Lolicon, from the english lolita. It similarly carries a prison sentence.
The blue ring octopus is a danger to us all and must be regulated and controlled. The second amendment includes the right to bear arms, not the right to bear eight tentacles!Archon said:So, Joe, if octopus rape *were* on the rise, would you support the abolition of hentai on the grounds of animal rights, or do you feel that freedom of speech trumps the environmental concern for octo-normative sexuality?
I love it when someone says something on a thread that is exactly what I would say, except better. It means all I have to do is point and say "That". Thanks.ErinHoffman said:Wow. This issue certainly sparked a lot of... interesting conversations.
I'm kind of amazed to see hentai compared to child pornography. The latter is illegal because possession of child pornography is possession of incontrovertible evidence of child abuse. It's seen as corroboration in a crime because if you find such evidence (of child abuse or murder or any other felony) you're supposed to report it to the police if you're a responsible citizen. There is no way this is even in the same ballpark as having cartoon porn.
The Japanese are certainly not alone in weird fetishes or cartoon porn, either. If you're inclined to look around you can find a great deal of very American cartoon porn depicting all kinds of atrocities visited on Disney characters. The Japanese have their own spin with the tentacles and machines and whatnot, but Cthulhu didn't come from Japan, and Cthulhu sex is its own sub-demographic of porn that you can find all over the internet and in many cases in print. I would also say just personally that there is nothing I could see in hentai that wouldn't disturb me more than some of the things that real people do with their bodies (the disturbing large number of people who have died of ruptured colons from having sex with horses, for instance -- and let's not even get into German scat fetishes) -- because it isn't real. Though I should say this is largely a theory on my part, because I haven't seen La Blue Girl and don't ever intend to. Still -- not real < real.
Bottom line, people of all cultures are capable of some really extravagantly wrong-in-the-head fetishes in pursuit of the forbidden and the dark side of sex. The Japanese don't have a corner on the market by a long shot.
Alot of videogames come from Japan, to understand them we need to understand Japan. Or so i think they reasoned. Besides, if one is gonna get 5 articles on gaming every week and still manage to feel unique they need to branch out.sharp_as_a_cork said:Meh...another non-gaming issue, more article of absolutely no interest to me.
Is The Escapist trying to quietly turn into a "culture" magazine (I have no better term for this) or a Reader's Digest? If so, why not state it out loud?
Are you guys running out of subject matter?
The more of these The Escapist puts out, the less likely I am to come back to read the articles. Granted, you've got a healthy credit with me yet, but I hope this pattern changes soon.
Some of these articles may indeed be good... but they're not what I'm here for.
Nothing to do with this thread's Hentai theme, I'm afraid.
