Completely agree, hey we can still hope the top floor of Hell tower burns down so Bobby will die...Or just get wounded painfullyGlademaster said:The Rockerfly said:No EA keep making new and interesting titles, please don't go the way of ActivisionI know this sounds bad but I hope EA does a bit of crap titles just to make money to ride out the recession so that when it's over he is still on management. If he is then they will have wiggle room to make new titles. After what Activision has done lately I kinda want their CEO to burn at the cross.ForgottenPr0digy said:that has to suck but i do hope EA does keep on making new IPs unlike Activision
I've hated every single one but I will re edited my post just for youJourneythroughhell said:That's weird, I enjoy the sports games. The Rockerfly said:[
EA repented and they are cool now though, I mean look at their game releases; Mirrors Edge, Dead Space, Dantes Inferno, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Brutal Legend. Granted they also make The Sims , the shit sports game and Ned for Speed every damn year but they pay for new and original games to be madeJourneythroughhell said:It's Activision who originally went the way of EA.The Rockerfly said:No EA keep making new and interesting titles, please don't go the way of Activision
And that's why the world is such a horrible place. Profit above all! That's really the main problem. I remember a documentary about the video game industry on Discovery Channel. One episode was about the big videogame crash, notably Atari's horrible doom after they were bought up and instead of being able to really make games at their leisure (and flourishing because of it) were forced to churn out massive amounts of crap, completely taking them down. An old employee put it like this: "You can't buy creativity." And I completely agree with that.Andy Chalk said:The irony for gamers is that after years of excoriating the company for destroying studios and churning out lackluster, cookie-cutter crap, Riccitiello appeared to "get the message" not long after he took over: He claimed to dislike heavy-handed DRM, promised that the company would make a greater effort to create new and better titles (and then actually delivered on that promise) and even appeared to take an enlightened view toward piracy. Yet it's the unabashedly profit-driven Bobby Kotick at Activision [http://www.activision.com] who's riding high these days, while EA continues to flounder.
The latest NFS instalment, Shift, was actually a very good game and really brought the series back from the brink. Totally took a new direction, completely ignored all the tuning/street racing bullshit from before, very nice balance between arcade and simulation, it's the first racing game in ages I actually like. The Rockerfly said:and Ned for Speed every damn year but they pay for new and original games to be made
They're improving, yes, and I don't want that to stop. But completely forgiving them...have you forgotten about Bullfrog and Westwood, HAVE YOU?!Marq said:This makes me sad.
I have adored new the direction EA has taken. They are fully redeemed for their past sins in my eyes. I don't want to lose this.
Or he could get cronic mind altering diahorea during a meeting and get fired that would work too.The Rockerfly said:Completely agree, hey we can still hope the top floor of Hell tower burns down so Bobby will die...Or just get wounded painfullyGlademaster said:The Rockerfly said:No EA keep making new and interesting titles, please don't go the way of ActivisionI know this sounds bad but I hope EA does a bit of crap titles just to make money to ride out the recession so that when it's over he is still on management. ...That...Is...Pure genius! I love itGlademaster said:Or he could get cronic mind altering diahorea during a meeting and get fired that would work too.
I actually quite liked Underground, I hate Underground 2 and stopped playing it there because reviews were awful. I agree towards the end the tuning got ridiculous and utterly pointless in some cases but hey someone obviously liked them. I however was not among themAssassinator said:The latest NFS instalment, Shift, was actually a very good game and really brought the series back from the brink. The first Underground wasn't that bad indeed, it was one of the first tuning racing games, a fresh concept I quite fancied myself for once (even though I hated the 'scene'). But indeed, as EA did so often, they kept churning out the same crap again. Shift was a very welcome new change, and another piece of evidence of EA's apparent new philosophy. I just hope that this news does not endanger that new direction, I'd hate to see EA go back to their old wicked ways again. The Rockerfly said:I actually quite liked Underground, I hate Underground 2 and stopped playing it there because reviews were awful. Oh good God don't that, Bobby will probably turn into some form of Alex Mercer if he comes with any virus, it'll just make the demon strongerGlademaster said:Yes we can hope or we can know if we geneticall alter a virus what could possibly go wrong?
This is why the news concerns me, MW2 hits $1 billion and EA is losing money, EA are making fresh, new titles and Activision are making the same stuff they make every year. Costs in Activision will be lower and from evidence, profits are also higher. God damn I hope they don't go back to the old waysAssassinator said:The first Underground wasn't that bad indeed, it was one of the first tuning racing games, a fresh concept I quite fancied myself for once (even though I hated the 'scene'). Something with that many syllables in it, has to be evil! Bobby will have no choice to bow down to the greater evil...unless he is truly so evil that he would ruin the video game industry and have the robot, ninja, pirate alien cops bow down to himGlademaster said:Yes but thats when we release the time travelling robot ninja pirate alien cops with termination set to on.
If thats the case then only Arnold Swarzhisnameagain, Stephen Segal, Bruce Willis and anyone else I can't think of to stop him.The Rockerfly said:Something with that many syllables in it, has to be evil! Would surprise me if that was true, otherwise someone would have killed him already. I have a suspicion that Bobby is like the T1000 thoughGlademaster said:If thats the case then only Arnold Swarzhisnameagain, Stephen Segal, Bruce Willis and anyone else I can't think of to stop him.The Rockerfly said:Something with that many syllables in it, has to be evil!
