Elementary School Performs Scarface UPDATED!

I had seen this yesterday and decided to close it after 30 seconds. After watching the rest of it, I realized that I should have stopped there. Yeah, I know that it's fake, but I cringed while watching it regardless.

The Portal theme done by primary kids, I liked. This? not so much, there's a fine line between giving kids the bit of leeway they deserve (e.g. Portal) and going a little bit too far.

Fuck that. Video games in school? Lame. Scarface in school? Fucken-incredible! Imagine how tight that little kid will be in 10 years.

All I can see is the same kid, drinking lemonade and doing [what looked like popcorn] while yelling "I PLAYED FUDGIN' TONY MONTANA! FUDGE YOU, YOU SON OF A B!"

OT - this was amazing. I laughed harder than I thought I was going to.

I kind of like the video. Sure, it was bad acting, but they were fourth graders. I thought it was funny to see kids put on a play copying the movie Scarface. I kind of like how they actually took the whole movie and made it school appropriate. It might take a bit away from the story, but it is funny to see how they do it.

Also, I am truly tired of always hearing about fairy tale plays at elementary schools. I think it is about time to get some real action into those plays. I defiantly would go see this play if it were being preformed locally. By far this is the best elementary school play I have ever seen.

I am in complete agreement with you. Just seeing that little kid, looking all serious, saying those lines is the funniest thing I have seen all day.

I just want to know what it would be like to be that kid anyway. He is easily the coolest kid I have known. I can just visualize what you said he would be doing; drinking lemonade and doing popcorn, saying yeah, I was fudging Tony Montana you sons of a B.

I think you have something there.
You see the final scene, with kid Hans ready to shoot kid John. Then we see that John taped a toy pistol to his back, whips it out and shoots Hans. You then see kid Hans hanging off the edge of the stage, grasping on to watch of Johns wife. You see John reach out, and undo the watch, and see Hans plummet to his death in some dramatic way.

I really think there is some potential in this play. The only problem would be the lack of a big set and we would miss the huge explosion on the roof. Also we won?t be able to recreate the cop car scene, where the body falls, and then you see the machine gunners turn the guys car into Swiss cheese. Still, it might all be worth it to see a little kid say, ?Yippee-ki-yay mother fudger.?

This is a beautiful thing. Sure, it's fake, but it's still a beautiful concept... next time I'm near an elementary school, I'll suggest a dramatic rendition of Manhunt 2.

This guy is clearly not listening to himself when he talks. People who are shocked by this video are hypocrites? He made this video, he is also a purveyor of other controversial and possibly violent media... he guards his own daughter as much as he can from violence, but he put these little kids in a video. Last time I checked thats pretty much textbook hypocrisy. Interesting idea though and well executed. It is true that children are incredibly overexposed to violence, I'm just not sure this was the way to send a message about that.
