If that was the worst part, not so bad. There's rumbles about the people at Bluesky being another bunch of rightwing deplorables, and I can see the thing going the same way.
Why? High rolls are better for both attacks and saves. In 2E the stats decrease as you improve, but that's because the stat generally represents the number you need to roll to do the thing in some specific scenario.
Like THAC0 is the number you need to roll to hit a target with AC 0. You then subtract AC from THAC0 and if you rolled that or higher you hit. For example, if you have a THAC0 of 17 and an opponent with an AC of 7 you need to roll a 17-7=10 or higher to hit.
Same with saves - if your save vs death was 16 and you needed to roll a save vs death, a roll of 16 or higher was a success.
I swear every time I did a skill check when I was playing 2nd Ed, every time I rolled remotely high it was a failure. And fuck THAC0, just give me a straight DC to pass.

Even better, one of the provisions of the "Cut everything! Fiscal responsibility!" bill was a two year suspension of the debt ceiling. Spend with no limits for 2 years.
The GOP got called out on their own bs, and rightfully so. I’d chalk that up as a good thing seeing as all the bs that was buried in the original bill would’ve been passed.

In any case, the fact that this months-overdue bill was presented with literally less than a day to review its 1,547 pages and using it as leverage to avoid a shutdown is asinine. The 40% pay raise on top of the already-generous six-figure/92 percentile base pay they would’ve voted themselves to receive, among a plethora of other pork measures at taxpayer expense had it passed in its original form just shows what a clusterfuck Washington leadership is.
