Enslaved is on my list to get, I just haven't got around to it yet. Now I almost feel guilty. It's coming up to Christmas, and while I hope to get it soon I think there's a good chance it'll fall by the side of CoD and other bigger names like Assassin's Creed for a lot of people.

I've pre-ordered Splatterhouse for PS3 long ago, and you ALL should do the same! Just look at this http://www.fearnet.com/news/b20808_splatterhouse_video_exclusive_soak_in.html

Now please name one game where you can actually rip monster's dick&balls through his throat.

I have a solution: XENOSAGA EP. IV: WIR MUSSEN DIE JUDEN AUSROTTEN. Or whatever German tagline they want to tack on. Seriously, those games were the dog's bollocks.

Namco is a name I've held in high esteem thanks to series like Tales, Soul Calibur, Xenosaga, etc. It's a shame to see them fall on hard times :(

That said, the only game on that list I'm hyped about is Majin. I really hope it's as good as it sounds.

Regarding Enslaved, when people were shouting more about the cut-scenes than the actual gameplay, that's when you know a game isn't worth buying.

I agree. They're a company I hold to high regard mainly for their arcade titles like Soul Calibur, Klonoa, Ridge Racer, Pac-man, etc.

I actually find it a bit bizarre thinking of such a company investing in a title like Dead to Rights and Clash of the Titans.

Naruto and Ben 10 only sold due to brand name recognition.
I actually played Naruto for a review; it's actually pretty solid. Granted, it's an extremely popular brand, but the fact that the game doesn't suck probably helped it quite a bit.

Damn it! This means the chances for a Tales game getting exported just dropped again! Are you happy now, general public/whosoever is currently reading this? You've made certain that Final Fantasy remains the face of JRPGdom rather than a better series (Legendia and ToS2 don't count).

Also, Enslaved so far has been rather good, if a little problematic with small little things (such as not letting me climb down and a few hiccups). It's sad to see it being out performed by licensed (ignore the fact that it's based off an old story that spawned Dragon Ball which went on to form DBZ) games.
Ah, but I'm pretty sure the ones that don't make it suck as much as Legendia and Symponia 2, Namco Tales studio phones it in on more than half the Tales games to make a profit. Only every so often is enough effort put in that you get a Symponia, Abyss, or Vesperia, Which considering how often other franchises make games, its pretty normal, and we have been getting the legitimate titles, just not the playstation special additions of them.

I rented Enslaved to see if it was worth buying and was very dissapointed. I got about halfway through it before Fallout NV was released (2 days into a 5 day rental) and I just returned it at that point because I knew I would not be playing it anymore.

I didn't like the combat in the game. The upgrade system totally blew. The mini-game type things where you shoot a machine gun at enemies etc was stupid. The boss battles were annoying more then anything else. Yes, the story was interesting and I would have liked to see it finish. I like how the two characters were drawing closer etc and the look into the girls past etc was cool.

I would rather have just watched a 2 hour Anime movie instead of playing it as a game though.

It wasn't even worth a rental to me let alone a purchase:(

While that really is unfortunate, it seems foolish for them to have predicted such high numbers for those games.

I had it stored in my Amazon cart until Yahtzee's review. Just goes to show: gameplay matters.

It's like GTA IV, with the game designers say: yes, here is this wonderful large world you can immerse yourself in: now, do exactly what we tell you to do and there won't be any trouble.

I thought the game was absolutely brilliant. Little fuzzy on the controls but nothing out of the norm for most games.

Honestly, it might end up being my personal game of the year.

Enslaved will probably become one of those hidden gem kind of games, but that's not going to help Namco/Bandai right now. Also whichever one of their analysts projected 700k for Clash of the Titans and Dead to Rights really needs to look into a new career.
no they need the old fail horn and maybe a asskickotron

That's what they get for screwing America over with the Tales series. You wanted money? You should have released Tales of Hearts, Graces, and the complete version of Vesperia.

eheemm dear Namco Bandai if you want to sell your games first learn how to market them and second just a fucking tip
bring over the tales series since almost neone who plays rpgs will buy it, since the games are actually good, and secondly as you saw with Naruto almost ever anime fan has a PS3 or 360 so all you really need to do is this bring over IdolMaster and just put it into English, you dont even need a new dub in English the Japanese one will suffice and youll probably sell 200000 for that alone if you sell it for 30 or 40 new at release and over a million for the ps3 Tales of Vesperia and Graces or at least close to it

no they were good but not that good due to the cutscenes being at times 20 minutes long
