"No, you probably don't. I just woke up here. Last thing I remember it was 2019, I had set out to find something after a nuclear apocalypse. And don't think you're the first person to threaten me, in fact, you're using the lowest firepower gun yet." Jaime said while raising her hands in the air.
"The fuck you talking about? Lowest firepower...give me a reason not to..." Before he could finish his sentence, a nearby wooden wall exploded and a voice cried out "HEY! COME OUT, BITCHES!"
Evan then turned his glaze at the explosion with awe. I need what ever caused that damage
Daniel heard something above him; perhaps the building was an apartment block. He hurried to investigate, finding a set of stairs at the end of the hall. He took them two at a time until he reached the floor above, where two complete strangers faced off. They definitely weren't Tournament security staff, especially considering one of them had a pistol pointed at the other.
At the sight of the gun, Daniel froze. He had no idea how his Associates would fare in a real-life gunfight. He cautiously moved into the hallway, afraid for his life in an instant. Then something exploded nearby, and he began to panic. Is there a "Fallout" arena now? he thought to himself, confused.
As the wall exploded Jaime grabbed the shotgun from her bag and pointed it at her attacker. "Yes, lowest firepower. Now, what's your name?" She asked as she loaded a cartridge of buck shot into the gun. If he moves, I shoot She thought the herself.
Death was not as Josh expected it. There was the pain of drowning, the hopelessness, knowing that he would never achieve his goals, and then of course, the nothingness that accompanied his loss of live. That hadn't lasted though, it felt like only an instance before he was waking up in clean bed with fresh linens. He stood up, his clothes were dry, everything was as if he hadn't died. Was he in Heaven? Hell? A scientist didn't believe in such things but it was hard to turn away something with this much proof. Maybe there was such thing as the Afterlife. An explosion near him made him reject that theory outright; there had to be something else at work.
He left the room and building he had found himself and wandered the semi-empty streets, walking with his cane for support. He felt a familiar weight in his breast pocket and pulled out a thick notebook full of notes. It hadn't been soaked and destroyed at all. There was only one thing to make sure that he was in the real world again. He blasted the nearest post with his Ice plasmid, smiling as it froze solid. He then shattered it by hitting it with his cane. It looked as if Joshua was back in the game.
"The fuck..." after chuckling at his situation, Evan lowered his gun and responded "The name is James " Evan lied. "I am just as confused you are, waking up in a strange, new environment tends to make me moody."
Just give me the opportunity and i'll yank that boom stick right out of your hands.
Hope this is okay xD I was on Hiatus for a reason D: (Reason: I suck) =P
~Just a bit further.. Jed thought, as he bounded across some grassy hills. Ahead of hime was a large bone running on legs. He growled as he got closer and closer... almost snapping at it's heels when..~
Jed snapped awake, he could've sworn he heard a loud yell. What's happening? Who's in trouble? He thought, running in circles out of excitement. He stopped and noticed it was colder than usual. This isn't Australia... He whined slightly, sniffing the ground to pick up any familiar scents. He wasn't phased by the weird floating furniture, more by the strange metallic box in the kitchen.
Hearing more explosions, Jed scampered over to the door, scratching at the handle with his paws. He managed to get the door open, and scurried around on the staircases.
"Arf!" He barked. "Arf arf!" Instead of running towards the noise, he starting heading down the stairs. Usually humans leave a building when loud stuff happens. Maybe I'll find someone outside? He thought to himself, slowly leaping down the staircases towards the door.
Jaime lowered her gun. "Nice to meet you, James. And the names Jaime, Jaime Mathews. So, what did you do before you came here? As in, for a job. I didn't really have one, as, you know, nuclear apocalypse and all." She said while putting the gun back in her bag. The bastards lying, but what am I supposed to do?
"I am a cleaner. I clean up problems for people. For example, if some stuck a shotgun in the face of a potential employer, they will hire me to kill them. Wait a minute, what do you mean 'nuclear apocalypse'?"
Should people with her condition be carrying a shotgun around?
"I mean Britain was attacked with nuclear weapons, as in, nukes, War Games, radiation, that stuff. What did you think I meant?" Jaime said, slightly confused at how someone didn't know that a major power in the world was destroyed. This guy's either crazy, or something very strange has happened.
Daniel listened to the two mysterious people talking, trying to remain unnoticed. One claimed she was from a nuclear apocalypse. That could only be from the future. As far as he knew, Britain had been perfectly fine like the rest of the world. Heck, they'd probably been backing one of the Tournament players. Most likely that Blaze guy. From his picture in the guidebook, he looked like he was from the UK.
Snapping back to the present, Daniel began to wonder how a person such as this Jaime could be here in the present day, when she claimed a futuristic event had already happened? It made his head spin just thinking about it.
Since my mother was British, I think that I would know if her home country was blown up in a nuclear explosion. Weren't they banned in 2024?"
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure (counterattack trying his damnest to be hidden. Evan pulled out his pistol and aimed it in his direction. "I don't like it when people eavesdrop. Come and join our conversation before I kill everything in your general direction." but then another figure poked his head through the hole and yelled something. Evan re-pointed the pistol at his head. "Who the hell are you?"
Daniel flinched at the pistol aimed at him. "Sorry, sorry," he said, walking into plain view. "I suppose I should introduce myself. Call-sign's Farseer. Gamer by nature, Tournament participant." As he spoke, he couldn't suppress the shiver of fear in his voice. Everyone had some sort of weapon. All Daniel had was his System, and even then it needed to be tested in the real world.
"Okay, it's twenty nineteen, not twenty twenty four, and no, I know Britain was destroyed, I was just there yesterday! Now, can we stop being enemies and figure out what the hell is happening?" Jaime screamed over all the noise of the soon to be shoot out.
"Um, excuse me, what year did you say it was?" Daniel chipped in, now even more perplexed. "As far as I know, it's twenty-fifteen. You know, the year the world government changed drastically at the exact moment the new year started? When a competition was set up in mid-February to settle all worldly debates?"
"Am I the only one with any sense of time? No, the world ended, or at least the U.K., six years ago, in twenty thirteen. Why don't we just try and add reason to this? Where is everyone here from?" Jaime said while starting to calm down.
"Although I have reason to believe the UK is perfectly fine, reason is good," Daniel admitted. "I'm from New Zealand originally. Or, well, I was, until I was kidnapped and forced to "play" a game to decide the fate of the world." He sat down against the wall, taking his pack off and setting it next to him.
