These reviews are quickly becoming my favorite part of the escapist. Good job.\

I might go see this.

BTW, I'm American and I think Saw stinks.

That intro = Win.
The review itself was informative, as always.

I had my doubts about PA, but you have convinced me otherwise.

How unexpected, I just keep hearing on how much it sucks.
Well that was a good review then, keep it up!

I saw this a few nights ago and I haven't been able to sleep since. Not going to dress this up: it was fucking scary.

Alright great review.

Personally I saw it before the hype train got too big and I enjoyed myself. I'm surprised he didn't tell you that there are some genuinely funny parts at the beginning of the movie both unintentional since the some girls at the front of the theater I was at kept screaming at every little movement (I mean like the door swaying back and forth) and some intentional ones that are made probably to make you care about the couple more.

Anything with Bob MovieChipmonkHouse is win, his authourative and clinical tone coupled with his measured approach to talking showing us that he means business. I like it alot, he's like Liam Neeson if he was your cool uncle.

Now I didn't even know this film existed, but now I'm excited to see it!. Totally agree on the shaky hand cam approach to film making, while I love Cloverfield it ends up giving me a headache because I don't know what to focus.

Hype eh? Have not actually even heard of this film, up until now. Looks like the kind of film that will be getting a more limited release in these parts. Sadly, looks like I'll be filing this under "films I won't be able to find anybody to go and see it with". I've already done going to the cinema by myself, which feels a little sad and lonely.

But hey, a "documentary style" film (I'm not sure what the exact name is for this sort of thing, avoiding using the term "shakycam" here) where stuff actually happens? Sounds good to me.

I've been on the fence about seeing this movie. Mainly because I get motion sick when people can't hold a camera steady and they are swinging around. Knowing know that they actually use a freaking tripod, I will probably go see it...

Oh, and sorry Movie Bob, I still plan on seeing Saw 6... Yeah I know they are not the best, but I have this twisted side of me that loves seeing people get killed for their past bad or evil deeds, or for just flat out being too stupid... It's like watching Karma come and bite people in the ass...

You should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm not the type who likes horror movies, but I will applaud them for trying this.

I have seen all the Saw movies. After the first one they just turned into torture porn. Yes, the first one has merit, but the only compelling reason to watch the rest is to see what bizarre ways people will be dismembered. When violence became Saw's selling point, the franchise just lost focus.

I think either this year or next year the Saw series will probably come to an end in theatres. Not to say they won't do more, but it will probably be more of a direct to DVD thing. I just don't see how they can keep this story moving along without 'Jigsaw'. I mean the 5th one had some neat concepts, but without Tobin Bell as a main aspect of the sequels they don't feel the same...
