I can't believe Bob this week. We are obedient sheep because we go see one of the biggest collaboration films this decade instead of watching a film that was barely advertised in many places? We are the worst kind of people on earth because we like the premise that a movie will be an homage to 80s action films?
He dropped the ball on this review. Insulting a film is one thing, insulting someone for liking it is another, but insulting people for thinking the premise sounds like a fun idea?. That's a new low. I won't even go into how much I disagree with you on the quality of the film.
For someone who tries to hinder people from being elitist nerds, you are one of the biggest elitist nerds I've seen in quite a while.
I can't agree enough
I saw what I expected to be a fun, stupid, get every old action star together to blow shit up, action movie.
I got a fun, stupid, get every action star together to blow shit up action movie.
And I liked it.
I didn't see it because everyone would.
I didn't see Scott Pilgrim because I didn't want to see a romantic comedy that weekend, no matter how different it is. Plus, I'm not the biggest Michael Cera fan.
I wanted a stupid, non-emotional, if you see a message you're digging too deep movie. And I got it, and I had fun. I didn't want to walk away with a message or a different look on life. I saw it for the same reason I play Just Cause 2. Because it is fun to watch things blow the fuck up! No deeper reason then to see things explode, and hear the (or one of the) LOUDEST shotguns in movie history.
Ever wonder why the Twilight movies are popular. Because some people somewhere, enjoy them. I may not, Bob may not, but someone does. Same goes with your precious scott pilgrim. I happen to be part of the group that enjoys seeing things explode. You know what, I liked the first live action Transformers. Sue me. I like the Losers because it had a good story, good characters, and plenty of explosions. And I like The Expendables. I loved seeing all the stars together for one last hurrah(basically, at least for Stallone, I think he said it), just a simple fun explosion movie.
Want to know why this exists? Because it's fucking FUN. No, it's not deep. No, it's not emotional. No, it's not Scott Pilgrim. But it's still a fun ride, if only for when they pull out the shotgun.
For anyone who saw it, Remember me at christmas!
Now, for everyone else, go see it so you get the joke.
