Escapism: US (now with less corn)

Okay so I think we might have scrapped the idea of CornFest and moved on to more of a US version of escapism. so the first task at hand remains we have to choose a location. Now I know as well as you do that the US is a big country with a population spread out across the whole of the country so we will probably want to pick several locations. so far we have;

West coast: San Francisco or Denver
Northeast coast: Boston, Baltimore
Midwest: Chicago or Kansas city, MO
Southeast: Atlanta is so far the only contender.
Southwest: Phoenix, Tulsa

those obviously aren't finalized and the regions can easily be changed if you want more events with less area for each region so there is less travel involved.

Just so everyone knows this [http://50states.mrdonn.org/5regions.gif] is the map of regions I'm going off of.

This is going to take place over the summer of 09', they're are lots of people in school now so just assume that it's going to be some time over summer. I doubt anyone has made plans ahead that far so until summer draws closer I can't give you an exact date.

Okay at this point we need to make a limit on amount of cities per region. do you want 3 cities per region then a vote to determine which one we go with or do you want more before a vote?

Well, I submit Chicago, or a surrounding 'burb, but those not in Illinois may feel differently. I have to admit, I'm pretty terrible at planning, as well.

You might want to note that this was meant to be a Midwest version of escapism. Have you ever been in rural-any-Midwestern-state? It's all corn and soy as far as the eye can see.

I take offense to that sweeping accusation of yours, buddy. I live in Kansas City, a city of industry. We don't have corn fields here. There's buildings, there's train tracks, there's a handful of casinos and there's a filthy brown river with mutated catfish the size of a fully-grown man. Get it right.
