I'm not going to lie this idea started out as a joke but this got a lot of attention so now I'm posing it as an actual possibility. I'm looking for any support I can get, really anything. Just come here and say your in or maybe you could help plan the thing, I'm not really the planning type and on top of that I have school until early June that also means I want this thing to happen in the summer.

So any ideas? first things first we need a location and if we can decide on that we'll take it from there.
What am I gonna call the Northwest Escapicon? Treefest?

Well for East Coast if we do something near Baltimore I can probably make an appearance.

EDIT: Plus holding it in Maryland makes sense, seeing as how it's smack in the middle of the East Coast.

Have Nuke write them a note stating we are all not pedophiles. (Inside Jokes FTW)
Oh how I laughed at that letter.

[HEADING=1]To get everyone attention the OP has been edited, were going to try and make this a US escapism with simultaneous events in several places.[/HEADING]

Awww- how come the Americans have to use a substandard knockoff name? Why can't it just be 'Escapism: USA'?
You might want to note that this was meant to be a Midwest version of escapism. Have you ever been in rural-any-Midwestern-state? It's all corn and soy as far as the eye can see.
I take offense to that sweeping accusation of yours, buddy. I live in Kansas City, a city of industry. We don't have corn fields here. There's buildings, there's train tracks, there's a handful of casinos and there's a filthy brown river with mutated catfish the size of a fully-grown man. Get it right.
last I checked Kansas City is about as rural as Chicago.

How about Denver? It's Central, lots of discounted flights into it and it's only an hour away from me. I think it's a good idea
I wouldn't call it central but if we add a mountain states category we could fit it in there.

Hmm, well it seems the biggest problems are transportation (and being allowed to go somewhere) and location so far. What are we defining as "Midwest?" I suppose Illinois (where I know of black lincon, myself, House25, ffxfriek, Faeanor, and some others I don't remember), Iowa (stickguy, Jumpman), Indiana (Grand Poohbah), Missouri (samsprinkle), Ohio (Grimm91), Pennsylvania (Symp4thy, Vivvav, Aumichan), Michigan (Zallest, GodsClown), Wisconsin, Kansas, and Minnesota (meatloaf231). I know ace_of_something is from Nebraska, too.

I can PM some of these people to see if they're interested, but if you're friends with any of them, feel free to do it yourself. And this is a scant few, just the ones I know or saw in the "Where exactly are you" thread. Tell anybody you know.

This isn't to say that other states can't get into it, too. This was just a brief list of states that are pretty clearly Midwestern. Also, if we do get something rolling, it can't hurt to ask your parents if you can come. Even if it's just for an afternoon of whatever.

That's a little farther south than here, thank God. We northerners are all about freeing slaves, working in factories, and watching the Yankees. Except for that part about watching the Yankees.

Come on now, what about Boston for the East Coast? It's easy to get to from like 6 states. Besides, we're the champs!

EDIT: Yea, in basketball. So what?

What about Colorado? The most Mid of Midwest States and also where both I and Sir_Montague live!

The problem with Colorado is that, while it is in the middle of the country, it's not "midwest" by our geographical standards. You are most certainly welcome to the Midwest region's Escapism, but would you rather have something closer to home for mountain states?

Since when is Colorado not midwest? Everyone refers to my state as part of the midwest, weathermen, Cartographers, etc.
And besides, Denver has a nice big Airport and lots of great things to do. Wouldn't it make sense to have the Midwest meetup here?

Chicago has a nice biggest airport in the US(if not the world I haven't looked at the stats anymore).

[HEADING=1]I edited the OP again it now includes the regional map I'm using. If you don't like it tell me about a different regional map of the US and I'll think about changing it, until then the cities you recommend are going in the region they are in on the map.[/HEADING]

Alright, I guess nobody around here really considers it such, and I don't watch much weather from Colorado, you're midwest if you say you are. Geography is not my area of study; who am I to say what is and isn't midwestern America? We'll have to keep Denver in mind, as well. I just think that if we're spreading out meetings, and we can have different regions, it might be easier than trying to get people from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, or Pennsylvania interested in flying to Colorado. It is being kept in mind, though.

Black lincon already posted the map I was about to post, so look at the OP for a loose reference.

Hey the Aussiescapists turned out all right, I'm sure we can pull this off. Although I have to ask, have you been to an IRL meeting or are you just afraid of randome people on the internet? I'm not saying that either is bad, hell I wouldn't show up at an IRL meeting of anywhere but this site.
