I don't seem to need one. I have a wooden desk that is very smooth and it seems to do the trick. However I did hear that for maximum mouse efficiency you should use a colorful mouse pad.
Unfortunately, I ended up with the "Charlie the Unicorn" mousepad that we have for some reason. At some point I'll get a new one, I just haven't seen any yet that strike me. It doesn't really matter I guess.
The cardboard back on my sketchbook, failing that my desk when I actually use my mouse. Sometimes I just use my laptop's trackpad, or my pen and tablet when I'm drawing.
My mouse pad sais.... "The Penn State Action Club 1995-2007" and then lists all the professors involved...i'm assuming one of them is my mom....
Oh, and its blue and has a picture of a university behind some trees.
My mousepad is a cardboard box...on top of a plastic box. Guess what my desk is? A plastic box, which is on top of another cardboard box, which is on top of yet another plastic box. Yeah...a little ghettofabulous, just like the couch-bed.
I usually use the touchpad, but whenever I connect my mouse I don't use one, and didn't think people still did to be honest, since most people use an optical mouse now.
Um, an old hardcover photography book called "Honorable Cat". I don't have a mousepad proper because I needed something big and hard to leave my cordless on, not something soft and floppy.
