I reeeeeaaaally had to squint to find the change. I mean, it's not like we were getting a view of her lady parts or bikini area. Honestly, whenever I hear something about DoA, I expect to see unrealistic boobs being displayed prominently somewhere. The Dead Island cover change was reasonable. This, I think, was being a bit picky.

Honestly, I think people are over-reacting to this. So what if they changed it a little bit? Would you want them to change the entire box art instead? If this little change helps keeps watch-dog groups off the industry's back then I'd say it's a win.

Thank goodness Dutch people don't give a flying F- eh, high kick, about violence, nudity and profanity. So I'm sure we can get the un "censored" cover as always.

Americans; your tax dollars hard at work as usual!

I like how the ESRB still tries to do their job despite having no idea how to do it. They lost all credibility for me, back when they rated Soul Nomad T, ANYBODY who knows anything about the game would not give it to anyone under 18.

Short of bikinis(which would show so much thigh without getting the waggy finger), like we are going to see that much thigh in-game anyway. Except for the boob physics, DoA has been rather conservative with dress-code in game.

hah puritan sensibilities strikes again. Man America will never live down its roots, shame.
Didn't know the folks who penned the Constitution were Puritan, thanks for that little bit of enlightenment.

Meanwhile there's the constant censorship that goes down in Germany, the U.K.'s no-visitor list, not unlike Australia's list of banned websites, and in China you can't even say the word dissent without the police coming down on you so fast your head will spin. Yet, this is what's considered outrageous and newsworthy. Oh noes, now I have to actually buy some crappy game turn it's case over to see the pixelated boobies...

It's not specifically that the founding fathers were Puritan, but the ones who fled England's religious persecution were Puritan, and they were the founders of the original thirteen colonies. That's what people mean when they say America has 'Puritan roots'.

OT: The ESRB being needlessly obsessive again. Color me amazed. It's such a small change and really shouldn't register anything more than a 'point and laugh at the ESRB's outdated sensibilities'.

They don't call it the Ever So Retarded Board for nothing.
ESRB makes some stupid calls at times, but you can't fault them entirely. The ESRB is doing a great job at rating games. It's a very solid model on how rating systems should be done.

Australians would kill to have the ESRB in their country.

Not to say that they can't improve, but there's ALWAYS room for improvement.

The Problem with the ESRB is that society changes faster then they can keep up. Their rating system is dated as soon as they agree on something.

This makes no sense. I didn't see anything wrong with the original cover art. It didn't show off anything that would cause parents or anyone of a similar mindset to get upset. I think that the ESRB needs to realize that they don't need to be as over-zealous as they have been when it comes to this kind of thing. I know that they don't want to get complaints from parents about their kids being exposed to "inappropriate content", but chances are, if the family has a computer, their kids have already learned all they need to know from the internet.
