didn't bleach and a year or two ago when they defeated THE antagonist and the main character had to do the whole heroic sacrifice thing? or did that just happen in the universe with just two deus ex games?
no, it happened, and it should have ended there, this 'its now the final arc' thing is just meh

I'm stick with it though, see how it ends, and probably forget about it

Bleach ended for me after Aizens defeat, the bullshit reset arc didn't sit well with me and i dropped it after a few chapters.

I can't believe Bleach is still going in the first place. The story arcs have always been way too long.
I can't believe Batman and Superman comics still are being made, despite the Joker being made in the freaking 60's. Now if there's ever a series of comics that won't die, it's Western big name super hero comics. Atleast manga ends, it seems like Western comics that are largely popular will keep going, as long as someone else will write it.

And don't get me started on Archie comics... Holy Shatner.

I started reading Bleach a looooooooooooong time ago and finally.
I mean I like when you mkae things short, I just can't step aways from reading Bleach and Naruto, the only 2 shows left I started reading when I was 14. Everything else has ended. So maybe 6 months left and then only Naruto to go.
Well Fairy Tail has also caught my attention but otherwise I am more into shorter stories.

Which Evangelion Manga? Theres like a billion different ones.
True but there is only one manga adaptation which is the one the OP was referring to and all the other manga are spin offs.

All I can say is that it's about time the EVA manga finished up, I swear when the manga series went on it's first hiatus I thought that the manga artist had died or something.

personally i reckon bleach should have ended on the defeat of aizen. (i read the reset arc and apart from changing ichigo's outfit nothing really happened) still nice to see it ending though.
as for eva i only have the rebuild blu-rays since its impossible to get anything else eva-wise here.

i just wish someone would localise katekyo hitman reborn.

I understand your point, but I've never even cracked open a comic book, and that's the exact reason why.

I tried to read Bleach back when it was new and made it to roughly book 20. It killed my desire to read manga.

Mahou Sensei Negima is also ending in three chapters, though not until March or so I've read.

What they ran out of filler?! Nooooooooo, this is impossible!
Quick get some fanfic writers on the horn.

They should have packed up long ago, then we don't haveto awkwardly explain how we like only 1/4 of a series.

Oh yeah, Bleach...

...i remember really liking the first few episodes/arcs...

...i also remembered the heartbreaking disappointment when i realized that it ended up being just like Naruto and DBZ, devolving into just about only based around having the protagonist fighting increasingly stronger enemies.

It marked the beginning of the end of my anime-fueled japanophilia

Bit sad that bleach is ending, a lot of people complain about its fading quality. But I've yet to see it through my rose tinted glasses.. I will miss Bleach, I really will.

Yeah I was about to say that as well...I was surprised since it kinda seems like there's still going to be loose ends even with the ending

Note they say the next Eva volume will the the last, not when they think it'll come out. The writer/artist reportesly hates working on it so we may still be talking years.

Now for the real manga chalenges: restarting x/1999 and ending One Piece.

The difference with Western comics like Batman is that it hasn't been the same story for the past fifty years. They're re imaginings telling different stories about the same basic character. They don't tie together.

OT: Now if we could just get Naruto to end...

What's wrong with those? I've never read them so I don't know what's the problem with them.

OT: I didn't even know Evangelion even had a manga series, just the series and a few movies.

I think you and I had the same problem when it came to animes, pretty much having the protagonist fighting just stronger enemies all the time. On a personal note for me, any anime that runs past fifty episodes makes me iffy about it.

I read somewhere that the Mangaka of Bleach wanted to make it last for another 10 years which I surely hoped this final arc doesn't last that long!
With enough filler, the anime version of it can last an eternity! >:D

OT: While I recognize the names, I've certainly never followed either of these. Then again, it's still weird considering something that's supposed to be big name manga, that's been omnipresent for years, is finally just disappearing.

I guess Bleach at least will still live on in endless shoddy video game adaptations like DBZ did... >_>
