Even the Floor Hates the New Dante

Wait did I see a British flag on Dante's shoulder, is he British? Is this something new or somethng that I've completely missed before?

The first part looked like the Scarecrow bit from Arkham Asylum but without being scary or awesome.
About the gameplay... That's too much air time, even for DMC.
The pull thingy looks too easy, same as in DMC4, "use Devil Arm to win".
The new horrible, horrible design is the last problem I have with this ruined series (was ruined at DMC4).

Well you may like it or not but when these guys set out to portray the life of an anorexic crack whore they really knew what they were doing.
I hope this is a prequel and it turns out that Dante looks like that because he didn't get his demonic powers yet. Anything else (like alternate universe) would be retarded.

As for the actual game and gameplay underneath the 30FPS, I think it looks interesting, certainly the first time that I've been interested in a DMC game since the first one. Of course, there's no way I'm going to buy it, I played the old ones and I thought they were a pile of arse and chips even with the better graphics.

I don't get whats up with people hating the new Dante design? Is it wrong for him to look like a possible human being instead of a male porn star, for once?
I like the platforming mechanics tho, they look nice and something that might be enjoyably fustrating.

For those of you who haven't seen it, there's video out there of the new Dante in devil trigger form (or whatever they're calling it now). His hair turns white and his coat turns red. Kinda puts a damper on all the hate.
I don't much care for how far away they've gotten from the game's more gothic roots, but who knows how the aesthetic will progress from one stage to the next. The combat looks pretty boring, though. Weird how DMC has made "over the top" completely ho-hum. Meanwhile, I'm thoroughly engaged by the infinitely less flashy melee mechanics of Dark Souls. There's a lesson in there somewhere.

Dante's design, like all things has evolved with time: I personally liked the design for DMC1 and DMC2, 3 and 4 felt a little to bishonnen anime; works for some, but not me.

In all seriousness, I'm actually liking what I'm seeing so far. It's almost like NT is going out of their way to make us forget that godawful teaser trailer.
At the end of the game, DMC3 Dante wakes up in bed, distraught by his nightmarish nightmare. Two feminine arms reaches over and comfort Dante. Then there is speech. Lady and Trish say, "Go back to sleep, baby." to Dante before the camera pans out, revealing Tameem Antoniades and Nero instead of Lady and Trish.

OK I don't even like the series but I cringed when they said 'capped at 30FPS'.
60FPS is crucial for fast paced games like this IMO. Far more important than fancy physics.
