Well, i can't say i was ever a fan of DMC (had the first one, was fun but hated the boss fights, didn't play it to the end), but these two trailers managed to make me even less so.

Atleast the earlier ones looked like they might be fun to play (or watch someone semi competent play them).

Oh man they took the cocky, arrogant, poorly dressed Dante that I loved and made him a cocky, arrogant, poorly dressed- Hang on a second...

Personally, I like the look of this. Looks fun, nice and colourful, combat looks pretty solid.

I don't even know who they're trying to appeal to now. If I play Devil May Cry, I play it to kick ass in style, not avoid holes in the floor. The environmental design is pretty good looking but that was never the main focus.

Seems to me like Ninja Theory should've spent their time making a film instead. Then again, I'd bet Antoniades would somehow end up being the director, producer and have the starring role. It'd be like The Room with swords.

I really, really like the concept of the city being out for your blood. I only wish it wasn't like Uncharted. I want to go up against buildings trying to flatten me. I am sort of looking forward to the game.

They have to take this further. Give me an entire demonized Empire State Buliding to fight, damn it!

Well the platforming thing will probably be somewhat cool...
still the combat is the best thing about the dmc franchises and plays a large role in the franchise,if NT fails to make that part of the game good, then the game is worth a rent, but not worth a buy and ive already seen some things that make the combat just utterly dumb and since im in a good mood ill list those things for you
-30FPS cap(duh)
-random slo-mo cinematic during combat
-''Devil trigger''(if you can even call that) causes a cinematic upon activating it
- gives insane buffs(zero G(MAKING ENEMIES FRIGGIN PUNCH BAGS),slo-mo and the usual strength/speed buff)i can smell how it will be abused
- lack of a style bar(BEFORE you flame me that the style bar served no purpose other than to show how good your combat is then you are WRONG on such a high level that even god would need to look up.In DMC3 the higher your style grade was the more ''Inputs'' you received from the game.Example:Lets say you would need to mash the triangle button to get million stab from Stinger,BUT if your style is is on SSStylish! then youre only required to push the triangle button about 2-3 times to get millionstab.also as the game gives your more inputs you can extend Crazy Combos to incredible lengths(million stab up to 8-10 seconds).
-probably not the same amount of freedom you would get in DMC3(being able to cancel out whenever and with whatever you want)

With that said i doubt DmC will reach the same awesomeness like DMC3/4

you might wanna compare the combat trailer to those nice combos

that being said, I wasn't particularly keen on "old" Dante either, he often looked like he'd just escaped from a particularly exotic gay nightclub)

the fanboy hate, I can just feel it permeating the web.

OT: Dante's new design never bothered me, and actually I do honestly like it more than his old one. His old one was rather boring to me. I kinda like the idea of the way broke and changed itself, and the combat doesnt look vastly different from any other DMC game.

I'll probably get thsi one, and enjoy it more than any other DMC game i've had.

EDIT:

and I like how we're using a picture of the Old Dante for this on the front page too.

I'm liking the new Dante a little bit more because they finally add some horizontal distance to Dante's jump, it always annoyed me that I could jump ten feet in the air but still only move about two feet forward.

Except my only complaint was that they never seemed like a threat. I wish there were buildings almost crushing you or you'd get hurt a bit to actually think, "Oh crap, the buildings ARE able to kill me. Best to avoid- CRAP barely dodged that spiked building."
This is probably an early stage in the game, who knows later levels may have killer walls and the like.

I was one of those haters myself when DmC was first announced but I've been keeping track of videos and whatnot and I gotta say, the more I'm seeing of it the more optimistic I'm becoming.

See? We're not all rabid fanboys who can't warm up to something. ^_^

That was in DMC2 and that boss was badass. Hell people just didn't notice quite a few of DMC2 bosses were extremely badass just limited to the PS2's current power and also AI coding knowledge.

Hell I want my HD DMC2 with updated Combat controls for Dante, Lucia and Trish.

I still hate thenew Dante and am not liking the voice work or soundtracks in these trailers, however the world shifting platforming does look damn cool. Reminds me ofthe car segment in Alone in the Dark, which I loved. gotta ask though: if they're taking dmc in such a different direction then why not just change the name? Everyone wins then.

Gameplay over character models for me. Dante in DMC3 looked like a 15 year old bondage slave, but it was one of the best in the series.

I'm not going to judge this game solely based on his character model, cant even pass comment on the combat either because no one has even played it to pass any legitimate comments.

Can't help but notice the token "guide/glowing-where-to-go-sign/pet girl" that our new Tameem flavored Dante is following around. With her addition I think it's safe to say that all the Ninja Theory clichés are now present and accounted for. At this point I'm just waiting for the big bad to be revealed. An insane, drug addled twin called Vergil perhaps?

Yeah. I still don't like this. Sorry Tameem.

Everything I've seen so far suggests that this game might actually be good. Having said that, I understand the fans' disappointment with Dante's new look. Had they given this guy a different name, NO ONE* would've bitched about it.

The visuals are vibrant and appealing, the combat looks fluid, and from that combat trailer their personalities seem rather mature. I can't say there's anything inherently bad...
