I always cheer for the bad guy/gal and if said bad guy/gal isn't cheer-forable I see that as a severe failing of the work in question.

I wonder how long it takes for Death Note and Code Geass (up to interpretation mind you) get mentioned.
Yeah, but those are evil PROTAGONISTS... I think the OP meant antagonists...which are evil like 9 out of 10 times. IMHO it's rare to see an antagonist with whom one could genuinely sympathize.

I do quite often if the good guy(s) annoy me enough. Usually the bad guy is more cunning so I'm like "Oh but you put so much work into that plan, you deserve the win".
Yeah, i hate it when the villian has put so much planning, work and waiting thousands of years to acheive some huge master plan.

and the retarded protagonist runs in and breaks everything in 5 minutes

every horror movie i see makes me wish that the army used it's head and nuked everything instead of waiting for one guy to get out or whatever. if this situation applies of course.

I rooted for the robots in the matrix. they were only hooking people up to generators because they had to to power themselves. for the people it's just like regular life only if any serious disaster happens the robots could just edit it out. then some humans freed themselves somehow and decided to take this wonderful situation away, what dicks.

half life 2: when Breen is offering freeman to work with the combine, second time I wanted to join them
Yeah, what got me was this line:

"Tell me, Dr. Freeman, if you can. You have destroyed so much. What is it, exactly, that you have created? Can you name even one thing? I thought not."

So true, still killed the guy though.

Avatar, anyone?

Fuck those tree loving godless socialist hippies. Capitalism is the true way of life!
haha amen to that. I also really hate it when they make the bad guys look cooler than the good guys. i usually don't root for the bad guys, but i sometimes feel bad for em.

they blew up a planet, killed the jedi, got rid of democracy, tortured han solo, killed ewoks, choked some people....
Not to say Vader, the Fetts, and the clones aren't cool, but...

I wanted Heddey Lemarr in Blazing Saddles to win. Never knew why, though cos he was a dick.
it's not Heddey, it's Hedley.

Some people consider Ozy from Watchmen a bad guy, and I most definitely root for him. Of course that's because I consider him to be absolutely a good guy.

Mentioning morality and Watchmen is dangerous, considering how easy it is for people to get distracted, and talk endlessly.

I at least found my self sympathizing with VIKI in i robot.
I was sitting there genuinely thinking that the protagonist was being illogical and irrational.

Edit: Does this mean that the normal person would perceive me as evil?
Nah thinking that will smiths "acting" is irritating is rational conclusion given that it so unconvincing of real life.

And I had to stop playing Killzone because I felt to much sympathy for the helgast.
Good. After all, VIKI made so much sense.
Yes well im not fan of all this idiot who beats people up can save the day even though he is a knuckle dragger.

Yeah. Avatar. Why couldn't all of the Na'vi perish in that tree explosion so that the movie could fucking end?

And I may lose my cool "street cred" here but I've always wanted CM Punk to beat Rey Mysterio in WWE. Mainly because he gets booed for promoting Straight Edge. A group that promises to not smoke cigarettes, take drugs or drink alcohol. They get booed even though they are promoting a good message! Really? Is that what we as a society have come to? We've got to boo people with good ideas?

Urgh. Oh, and I was cheering for Sir Patrick Stewart when he faced off against James Corden in that spat at the Glamour awards. Why was SPS a villain? Because the douchebags that run the papers said so, that's why!

I root for the bad guy all the time. One of my biggest ones was the old Disney version of Hercules.
[ Also, your name is Herakles! Not Hercules!

I really wanted the party to go ahead and finish their focus. It was implied that by killing Orphan, they'd be bringing about a new era of peace. Of course, their incredibly deus ex machina method worked too, but sometimes, you have to wonder if Barthandelus was right after all.

I am going to get someone pissed off for this but I was rooting for the bad guys in I Am Sam. I know a mentally-handicapped guy who tried to raise a daughter by himself in a situation similar to the movie. Let's just say that it didn't work out well at all.

Deffinatly Clyde from law abbiding.
He went through all that effort to change how the obviously corrupt and useless judical system.
And to everyone who that the navi or the shrimps from District 9, your an asshole.
How dare those aliens defend themselfs against us trying to destroy everything they worked to build!
They should except the ghettos we put them in and ignore.
And what ever the protaganists name from Avatar was, he was right to join the na'vi because their society is based around the collective rather than individuals. And if earth was over-populated or dying, they shouldn't have to destroy an entire civization to do so.
