Why just last week some guy on YouTube said he wanted to slash my throat cause I said that music videos from goth bands always seem to have crap CGI in them.

I get them on a regular basis. I help run a TF2 server, so I get wonderful threats from the assholes we deal with. My favorite was the kid who said he would rape my mother, fornicate with my father's skull, kill my dog, then teabag me to death while wearing my dog's skin as a condom.

I couldn't stop laughing.
To screw with him, should have replied that you were an orphan, and you had no dog.

That's what I would do.

OT: The only violent thing I've been sent was someone ranting about how they would kill me. It was so poorly written in "l33tspeak", so, I just deleted it.

No, but I have been threatened with violence a few times in real life.

I've had people threaten me because I won't let them in the store during closed-door hours. (thus proving exactly why there are closed-door hours in the first place)

I've had people threaten me because they keep hitting the wrong buttons when paying by EFTPOS and I have to keep setting it back up for them over and over. Apparently I somehow did it wrong. Derp.

I've had people threaten me due to the fact that I'm not standing behind the counter with my thumb up my ass for the whole shift. They either get upset and yell at me after they use the doorbell or they stand there ignoring the "use the doorbell" sign even though it's strategically placed where they will see it, no exceptions while expecting me to magically know they're there.

This town is filled with dole-bludging, hard-drinking, chain-smoking, drug-pushing deadbeats.

But online threats? Nope. Can't remember a thing.

I received a few death threats on Xbox LIVE... the funniest one was.

"I'm going to **** all of your family you ****! Why did you drop the bomb of the edge ****head! I'll **** your ass *****"

my response: "that was PRO4NOOBZ... not me..."

his response: "oops sorry"

...

and in real life someone from my school said "I'll get a baseball bat, right, and I'll 'it you in da head wiv it!"

"you can't reach my head you 5 year old"

humans suck

A random YouTuber challenged me to a fight once. I think his phrasing was "what state do u live in tell me an we can meet up for a fight". I told him I couldn't be arsed to cross 5000 miles of Atlantic Ocean just to punch him in the stomach and watch him cry. That's all I've really got.

I play League of Legends. That´s basically all I need to say.

One time, I was playing 5vs5, and winning 19-0-7, that is I made 19 kills, died 0 times and made 7 assists. I never spoke a word, and some guy from MY team, that had 14-3-5, actually had the nerve to call me a "fucking noob shitfaggog master of sissiry", probably under the assumption that he was an Angr Marine, and said that he wished he could kill "all the pretentious egocentrical motafucking noobs like me", when he spent all the game telling everyone to cover them and that it was their fault when he died.

Funny little fella.

Well, quite recently whilst playing Killing Floor I jumped onto a French server (Since that was the only one with a spot left on it). Things went quite smooth at first, people generally watching by back while I focused on Gorefasts and Fleshpounds (I was a Support Specialist). however near the last wave, I accidentally let off a stray shot that detonated a Pipe-Bomb one of my allies was setting down and it killed him. Cue them turning on their Mic and ranting in English in a very Patriotic manner that the British aim only to derail the French and the EU, and that we all deserve to be burnt to a crisp to try and stop our genes getting passed on to make the next batch of greasy chavs. This was just after the whole Cameron veto thingie, and the rest of the group were on my side saying that this bloke was a douche :p

Yeah, a few times. Mainly because my character/avatar I choose most of the time is female, just for shits and giggles. Others ask me: "Are you a girl?" I respond: "Nope." in a deep, manly voice. After that they say I should go die or something, their voices were to high to understand.

When a "friend" of mine found out I was gay, he completely cut me off. Then he somehow discovered my dad's email address, and sent a death threat to my entire family saying how disgusting I was and that they should fix me or he'll call the police.

That was a fun day.
Holy shit; I hope things got better for you. Damn.

I've, somehow, never had someone threaten me over the internet. I once had someone insult me over my clinginess, and I've been told to "stop spouting transphobic bullshit" at one point--I was advocating for transrights while still saying I think it'll be a while--but that's about it. Guess I'm lucky.
YOU THINK THEY'LL TAKE A WHILE??! YOU TRANSPHOBIC BASTAARD

...yeah, no, that's pretty lucky. I don't actually count threats from idiots or people who've missed the point. They aren't worth paying attention to.
That's a risky move to make :/ the idiots are the ones most likely to follow up on their threats.

I never take online threats seriously. They're good for a laugh before putting the person making it on "ignore".

That being said, I'm a combat vet with a carry permit, so if someone does decide to attempt to make good on their threat I'd welcome the challenge.

Since I'm a mod on Kongregate (major flash-gaming/chat site) I get them at least weekly. It really doesn't even register anymore. I dream of someone coming up with something original. I've yet to hear someone say "I will teabag your soul" or "I will kill myself, go to hell, and begin a five thousand year coup so that I may come to power, solely for the pleasure of torturing your eternal soul." Now THAT would be interesting!

Death threats, if your trolling correctly, you will get them.

once in WoW a guy whose character i killed multiple times in a Battle Ground crated a Horde toon just to threaten me with death and my mother with sexual assault.

I laughed so hard i /ignored him without reporting.
I've done almost the opposite; I'd just started WoW back up and I was in STV where some horde kept spawn killing me for an hour straight, seriously I couldn't get away. So I made a horde, insulted him with everything short of a death threat (not sexual insults or family insults, personal ones but no death threats), then I calmed down and explained how he ruined the game for me and that now because of him I didn't want to play it ever again - that he'd wasted an hour of my time and now my money as I was early in the subscription of 2 months.

I quit out, and played it again at the weekend where I had a full apology and some gold. It wasn't even sarcastic. I understand PvP but a line has to be drawn with spawn killing for no honour. At least he had some morality, I was just lucky. Anybody else on WoW would've shunned me. Cunts.
Damn. PvP is one thing (you can leave a battle ground at any time if your not having fun) but spawn camping is an act of pure douchebaggery. I'm glad they guy said sorry. also, people on WoW are not all obscence words for female genitals. guilds and other players do help thouse being ganked unecisarliy hard.

(sorry about spelling, its finals week at college and my brain is smeared on an essay atm)

Hey, so today I learned that a picture I posted a few months ago online kind of caught on and had a bit of popularity. In fact, I originally posted the picture here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.311163-Pokemon-The-Christian-Playthrough?page=4#13481307] on this site. The thing is though that it might have been a teeny bit offensive to Christians, and while I was browsing the flame war it started on reddit, some guy was saying whoever made the picture needs a shotgun bullet to the head.

Has something like this ever happened to you? When it did, were you offended, scared, apathetic, or just laughing your ass off? Honestly, it's kind of a strange feeling, but overall, I had a good laugh. What about you?
you are aware that the Catholic church recognizes evolution, right? Please don't group Catholics in with Protestants. They don't share the same belief on everything.
Ugh, I don't want to get into this again. -____-

Yes, I'm aware that the Pope recognized evolution, in fact, I wrote a paper related to that back in AP History.

It's called a joke. I listed a bunch of thinly veiled Christian stereotypes for the same reason I put Bidoof's head on the Pope's body: Because I thought it would be funny, not to be politically correct.

Online? All the time, I even get hatemail, and threats in person, such is the life of someone who's not a straight white fratboy.

The only time I was really scared were the few I got in person, mostly because the guy was about 6 foot 6 and built like a brick shit house.

Other than that, it's kinda depressing, because a lot of the threats I've received revolve around my assistance with LGBTQA youth, and how I'm supposedly corrupting them into being queer... despite the obvious fact they kinda sorta are already queer (or questioning or are allies) hence why they wanted to attend a LGBTQA support group... Really speaks volumes about the ignorance out there.

It's not "politically correct" to be to depict facts (like how Catholics realize evolution exist).

(sigh) Okay, fine, whatever.

Yes, most Christians aren't as extreme and hostile towards science as others depict them to be. [small](although I live in Texas, and you'd be pretty surprised how stupid religious people can be around here)[/small]

There, you're right, I'm so sorry. Can you leave me alone now?

I'm American and I have family in Texas, I know what you mean. I'm not trying to bully you, I just get tired of all the bigoted Christian bashing I see going on. No hard feelings, ok?

Oh, it's no problem. I kind of understand, I just get tired of people not being able to take a joke. It's all good though.
