Ever listen to music while you play?

Yes. But I don't play normal music. I usually play stealthy music, or soft ambiance. Even if I'm playing Call of Duty, or Bad Company 2 multiplayer. Why? Well, first of all, it isn't distracting since I'm not playing something like Godsmack, or anything like that. Second of all, given my "Stealth at all points possible, even in combat." play-style, it not only fits with my play-style, it helps me get really into it. Examples? Of course! Ever play the SMT MMO? Well, the soft techno ambiance from the odd, virtual combat training is a pretty good example. Or maybe some ironically fitting stealth music from CoD4, or MW2. I say ironically, since I'm either playing music from the Call of Duty series while playing something from the Battlefield series; or playing something from CoD4 while playing MW2. See why that is? If not, let me elaborate.

I'm either playing music from what is held as the best Call of Duty game, in what is held as the worst Call of Duty game; or playing something from a Call of Duty game, in a game that is held as the counter-point to the Call of Duty series.

Although if I am playing something like Killing Floor, I definitely put on my own brand of "Fuck you up music", while I'm playing it. Example? The Korean version of Combat Arms' BGM loop. You know the one...Pure bleedin' epic, there.

For Online but not during story mode because its annoying for cut scenes and stuff.

When I have to concentrate (on anything, not just games), I can't listen to music. When I'm doing something dull and repetitive (like grinding) then sure, I can listen.

But here's an interesting question: do you actually listen to the 'outside' music you've put on? Or do you put it own more to 'get into the zone'?
