I expect most cities (in Ireland and Britain anyway) have a pub like the Fran, but to me it's the people that matter more than the venue. If you go there with the most awesome people you know then you can continue to have a good night even if you end up in the Brog or some such place. There are good pubs here too, but the people... it's early days and I might get to like them, but they just aren't the same. Of course, I'm just starting a MSc degree, saw the first big assignment I have to do and have been paralysed by shock for the last two days, so my glasses may be even more rose tinted than normal as I look back at it.:\

You're probably right, I've just had so many good days/nights there.

It's only early October and it's a huge change, I'm sure you'll settle in a bit more with time. Besides, in the highly unlikely case that you don't, it's only a year so you can totally ditch them all in less than 12 months.

Yeah, I did my undergrad and MA in UCC. I'm doing a second MA now because apparently I didn't traumatise myself enough the first time!
