My official opinion on that short advert was 'WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT THING!?'.

Like the facehugger that came with the collector's edition of AVP3, this is just something that would make me ask someone else to open the box for me (and then proceed to put the figure in an incinerator and burn it to make damn well sure it doesn't find it's way into my room).

Now for my official opinion of the game.

I bet it will be no-where near as frightening as that figurine and about as fun to play as undergoing chemotherapy.

Yeah FEAR and FEAR: Extraction Point both made me stop playing and turn on every light in the house once or twice. I still remember Fear: EP when I saw I was about to enter the Morgue, after the mindfuck I'd already been through...
"Oh no, fuck you. [quicksave] Not now. [Close Game]"
I think it took a week to start playing again.

Yeah I did something like that with the original F.E.A.R. I'd not long reached the point early in the game where you crawl through a steam-filled vent and child Alma comes crawling at you, only to vanish inches away. A few minutes of playtime later I reached another vent as the only direction in which to progress, and as I approached it I got that goddamned 'Unknown Transmission' message.

I quicksaved and quit right there. Not a chance, F.E.A.R.

Of course, I returned to it a couple of weeks later and the vent turned out to be completely uneventful but, damn, that a game had that effect on me is a praise-worthy factor.

Besides really well playable combat Fear was pretty midquality.

But the End really was strange and so intense that i needed to think fotr a few seconds to undrrstand what happened.
Whoever was their writer had a moment of enligthment at this moment.

In all serious though, this is somewhat interesting to me. Now I could go without Alma being naked, but the whole pregnant/glow-in-the-dark fetus is disturbingly interesting to me. I'm just weird like that...

This is one of the greatest game collectibles since the CCS t-shirt.

Agreed. Although I don't think I'll be taking Alma out of the box. If anything it's being doused in lighter fluid and set ablaze in the back yard for fear of it coming alive.

However being the sucker of Steelbooks and one-off comics I will definitely be getting this. Fettel's 'Hammer' won't hurt either.
