Fable II or Prototype?

From someone who has played both and not someone who will put XXX GAME ROCK AND ZZZ GAME SUCKS and hasn't played ZZZ

Fable 2 would be my favourite; I like the flow of combat - interesting characters and allot of love put in.

Prototype is wellll... Fun in the same sense a McDonalds cheeseburger is tasty.

Heh, if you're going to suggest another game entirely and make it an rpg, go with Dragon Age over Oblivion . And if he wants a good action game, Batman:Arkham Asylum.

But back on topic...

I have both game, beat both of them and earned a respectable amount of achievement with both.

They are widely different games, both with their flaws and merits. Both are respectable entries in their given genre. IMO thought, Prototype is the better game.

The combat in Fable II can get somewhat repetitive (Find a tactic that works for you and repeat it - spells are very poorly balanced so that some combo make the entire game completly trivial) and most of the things that are designed to make the game 'deeper' are essentially totally optional and don't have that much relevance (Yes, being rich as hell and owning everything is kinda cool, yes you can have kids and wives that gives you gifts... but so?).

I love the free-roaming aspect of Prototype - the insane parkour-esque move and exploration (I also liked Infamous, AC and AC2 for the same reason) and the combat in Prototype is a lot faster, more furious and fun. For what it's worth, Prototype is also a harder game and with more challenge comes more fun (to me anyway)... Fable II is a cakewalk.

Prototype" Pros: its a very actiony game. Its nice to go to an army base and rip up everybody with your claws of red and black blood stuff. No i only played the story line for a bit. Then i killed everbody(bad)
Cons: alex is a jerk, and the game is morally corrupt(also bloody)

To keep it to the facts and short and simple:

~Fable II: Action Fantasy RPG that is for the gamer who likes to roam a bit, and is basically just a fantasy game where you can swing a sword (or your weapon of choice), become the Monopoly Guy, customize your character's appearance right down to making him a fatty or not, and cast the spells that makes the peoples falls downs.

~Prototype: Action Sci-Fi RPG that is for the gamer who likes to roam a bit, and is basically just a person of mass destruction game where you can gore people, morph, and to other drastically weird shit. It's tons more gory but the plot kind of stinks like rotten garbage wrapped in burned bacon of the defiled ones.

So, yeah. They're almost the same game. One's just got a bit more background painted aroudn your character (Fable) and one is a bit more action oriented (Prototype).

However, they are both mediocre.

So, the classic contest of the Giant Douche and the Turd Sandwich.

Psh Fable is an over hyped piece of shit RPG, there's nothing good about it. I played the first Fable and couldn't stand it and Fable 2 seems like it's the same thing. No idea why they're making Fable 3. Don't waste your money. Prototype: fun as hell, it's a sandbox RPG, and you aren't stuck to solving a mission in a set way; however, it's short, the activities aren't really worth it, and the whip is so OP that that and the blade is all you need really.

I really enjoyed Fable 2. Maybe it's because I didn't pay attention to Mr. Molyniux's hype machine but I found Fable 2 to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I haven't played Prototype though so I cannot tell you which is the better game.

I'd say prototype. more action, and more excitement. But i do love hack n' slash games so maybe my opinion is a little one sided.

For Fable i couldn't get into it. I played it all afternoon with a friend and i just didn't like it. I think its only saving grace is its co-op.

But if you really want an RPG then try Fallout 3 or Mass effect. Still enough action and it will draw you in too.

FABLE 2 as final decision, cause it's got a huge replayability, and it's storyline is a big one, much more hours than most games nowadays. in prototype there's just challenges and stuff like in a gta game, but it's not a gta game that's the shame, graphics aren't as eyecandy as Fable 2 and characters are not very deep compared to Fable 2, do i need to say more?

i have played both and tbh i found both pretty good. but i think ive played fable 2 more.

as for gamer score. fable 2 is easier. prototype will have you looking all over the fucking city for shitty coloured orbs and then you miss one and almost kill yourself

I think he's just trolling... Not liking Batman AA is fine, but saying it's "one of the worst games ever made" is laughably inaccurate.

Fallout 3, Oblivion, Dragon Age, Mass Effect for RPGs

Assasin's Creed 2 (not the first one), Batman: Arkham Asylum or Red Faction: Guerrilla for sandboxy third person fun
