I've never seen facebook as a gaming tool, but I can't complain if it gets more people gaming. If it doesn't turn out too bad, I might even give it a go. Hell, everything's worth a try once, right?

See I think I would only play this game if it was friends. That kind of is a Facebook advantage, I only have to communicate with people I know... Not tweens with a sugar high...Donrad said:HHHMMMMM might be ok.
ill read into it more. i hope its not JUST friends.

I agree, first person shooters are a fast paced, intense experience and completely different from the turn based genres. I personally am glad there is a FPS coming out on facebook, there are PLENTY of coffeebreak titles already, its staggering. Facebook needs a game that i can actually PLAY, instead of manage which makes it feel like chores instead of fun.tahrey said:i dont get it... the neat thing (objectively speaking) about most current FB games is they're coffeebreak titles, and they have much opportunity given their slow / turn based nature for linking in with the way a soc net works (the whole "wall" of status updates and the like), allowing people who may not be playing at the same time to share bonuses with each other, etc.
I just can't see that with an FPS. It's be like tacking on a racing game or something.
Farmville WAS that, until it just got a bit too bloated. Haven't touched mine in over two weeks after I found myself with a workload that meant I couldn't get to it. The habit's broken and I'm not sure if I'll be back - it's now too much effort and a daily turn can last an entire lunchbreak, let alone a coffee stop. Got into Battlestations instead - can dip in and out ENTIRELY at leisure, or leave it running in the background to hit a button on it in idle moments. Plus it's easy to hide from the boss, not particularly noisy (if you turn battle sounds off) or demanding of bandwidth or ability to blast through firewalls, and only requires a few mouse clicks and modest hardware. Again, I can't see any of that being compatible with a modern FPS. If nothing else, my 2006 laptop and laptop-based desktop workstation (2009 but you'd never tell) wouldn't have a cat's chance in lucifer's own dog pound of running something like that (which will almost certainly be delivered over flash, too).
