My hope for humanity is that in 400 years we'll have abolished organised religion. Cured disease. Stopped hunger. Dissolved nations and nationalism.

So far I think in 400 years we'll lucky if there is still a breathing human on the planet. But what the hell ... I won't know about it anyways so I guess all I have is hope and faith in my fellow Man that all things will end well.

Actually OT:

The endless possibility in human imagination. We can think our way out of almost anything, and the stories that we can think of never cease to amaze me.
chocolate AND bacon humanity how i love your gluttonous ways now if i put some peanut butter on that and maybe some marshmallow fluff it would be heavenly and no i am not joking
Kinda sounds like you want to make rocky road with bacon.

The fact that humanity doesn't give a shit what I, or anyone else, thinks, gives me hope in humanity.

As long as one of us is willing to stand up for he believes is right, we'll be okay. That's why, though WBC disgust me, I can stay happy: as long as someone is willing to fight for something, humanity will progress.

The terrible, stupid things people do give me such faith in humanity, as it helps us rise above easier ;)

I don't really have a "faith in humanity" bar, I simply can't get the kind of scope that you need to fathom such a thing.

Like i said previously in my last thread about this. The one hope...THE ONLY HOPE I HAVE IN HUMANITY Is Christianity. I'm 50 at the moment. What makes me lose faith is the way people can't accept other peoples opinions and see why they choose them.
Agreed (not with the Christianity thing, not saying that it's bad I just don't belive in it). It's easier to negotiate and talk to people when you understand their viewpoints/opinions, but people love to be right and hate to be wrong.
See something like this, I can talk to you because you showed maturity and the ability to respectfully accept that I'm Christian. And for that i respect you!
It's really frieghtening how posting about your religion or political stance on websites can become a flame war with people who hate you for it and believe you should die for not being like them. When the hell did we step back into the dark ages?
When anonymity and almost complete safety from repercussions was introduced.

This may be a little extreme, but celebrity news makes me lose faith in humanity. Not because it's about celebrities, but because it's shown on the actual news! I'm one of those people who are quite elitist when it comes to the news.

As for restoring my faith in humanity, well here is another odd one, I found that after reading 'I am Legend' I think that the human mind is so creative and unique, that I think those qualities should be seen as a high point for our species.

Also Blood Donors and organ doners assure me that there are good people in this world.

My current rating around about 70/100. That said if Sarah Palin does try and run for presidency, then I will need a flamethrower.

same here organized religion is over rated and has cause to much death. but looking at how the world is run by a group of people with what seems little knowledge of what is important (american stereotypes i'm refering to you) and blowing millions or more dollars (or other form of currency) on unnecessary things but we are getting smarter and small groups to help benefit the world are popping up now if only people would accept they are flawed then they could help the world then again i could just be ignorant and stupid but i think i've hit the mark fairly closely

I can't really put a number on my faith in humanity. Overall though, I think we're doing okay.
Although there's certainly a fuck ton of problems, I think it's more promising than ever before. We're slowly approaching a sort of equality and respect for different religions, sexualities and whatnot.

It's certainly better than before anyway.

Gah... where to start...

What makes me lose faith: People who bash things that they've never tried. Religious extremists. The fact that, while there are many, many people that have it, a big chunk of our population lacks common sense. Rumors. Slavery. Racism, sexism, homophobia, et cetera. Stereotypes. Trolls. So many things...

What gives me faith: That there are tolerant, reasonable people in this world.
Also this:
Not only the song, but what it and the video represent: When they work together, people can do ANYTHING.

My faith is hovering around the 60% mark. If we could all just learn to work together, we could be doing some wonderful, amazing things... However, there will always be some sort of discord; it's in human nature.

As for what restored my faith in humanity, is when a lady who was by the river where that ***** threw the puppies in actually saved 5 out of 6 of them.

Now it's your turn.
I'm sorry dude, it's looking like the ***** who threw the puppies in asked her neighbour to pretend to find the puppies to take of some of the heat she was getting.

Anyway, I'm at 100. I try not to judge humanity by the lowest common denominator, I would be somewhere around 0 if I did, there sure are an awful lot of horrible people out there.
Well god damn it. Didn't even know that ***** was that smart, then again she did videotape herself doing it so she's pretty damn stupid. Now I've reduced my faith in humanity to 59, I also have to find some other heartwarming story of humans doing good things.

Our (relatively) high survival rate of traffic gives me hope for humanity. Even in an environment that dismisses reciprocal altruism [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reciprocal_altruism], we tend to cooperate (with few exceptions).

As for Sarah Palin running for President, I think it's a good way to ensure Obama gets a second term.

What you see in the news is just what bad there is going on. I think that the western world is just a very negative civilization. There is lots of good in the world, its just deemed unnewsworthy. However I really fuckiing dislike the hateful catholics/christians you get nowadays who blam everything thats brown, black or not christian. My faith in humanity is 50, I just think people need to wake up and see that what they believe is not right. Sorry if i offend.

Religious nutjobs, Disney channel, and the current state of the world make me lose faith.
Bacon, games, books, and my friends bring it back. Actually, my friends are on the knife-edge of the issue for me.

Un-informed idiots that refuse to expand their minds really bring me down.

Comedians like George Carlin (R.I.P., you magnificent SOB) and Christopher Titus bring me right back up, though.

We cannot judge humanity as a whole simply by our "lowest" rungs, but they must be taken into account, because they are just as much a part of our society as our "higher" rungs are.
