Yeah I know I was just saying. It is fucking annoying and adds insult to injury, especially since I still had feelings for her (and still do a little bit) She's still my friend and I still kinda like her (mainly because no one else has caught my interest), but that statement really pissed me off and made me feel bad. I also hate how it seems like girls are obsessed with looks and popularity. If you're not popular or look good then you're out with most girls. That girl I was talking about who said that wasn't very popular and wasn't some stupid hot bimbo, but I would bet if I looked like some fucking model she would've gone out with me. And it sucks because most people who aren't super popular (I have lot's of friends I'm just not some preppy asshole) or super hot (I am not) have great personalities (I'd say I do) but most girls don't see that :(
Well looks are important too. Sorry man but people who say looks don't matter are lying to themselves. You simply can't date someone you find unnatractive. And as "unmanly" as it might sound, try paying attention to how you look, there are ways to "look good" without working out 24/7 and looking like a male model or the stereotypical popular sport dude.
Sorry, I kinda failed at explaining. I don't think that you should date some fugly person, and I'm okay when it comes to looks, I'm just not "hot". I bathe and fix my hair and take care of pimples, etc. I just don't look like the next [insert "hot" actor here] I'm just kind of middle of the road. I'm not some athletic buff nut, but she isn't some athletic freak either. Let me put it this way, we have almost EVERYTHING in common but I'm not some handsome athletic monster and I'm not positive but that is the only reason I see why she wouldn't go out with me. Looks do matter, but they can't be EVERYTHING.

I hate when people say stupid shit like that and don't explain. like once I was told "I like it that you like me but I don't like you" by a girl. WTF!? I kinda get what she means but I don't really get it. Like, you like the idea, but not me? Idk... I assume u liked her or something, but what were the circumstances? Did you ask her out or something or is she just a friend or something?
I think it's pretty clearly a "I'm flattered that you like me - but I'm not into you." Thems the breaks. At least she was pretty straight up about it. She could have taken the easy way out by stringing you along.

To the OP: Well, that's got to suck. I mean, being called fake is a pretty invalidating experience. You're a real person with genuine feelings - you get hurt when people say stupid shit like that - maybe you should make that clear when people call you fake. I don't know.
I know what it means it's just the way she put it with no explanation is just weird, and it was a stupid way of dressing up "I dislike you but still want people to like me"

I dont even know what people mean when they call others fake. Nobody calls me fake because I hardly wear black, I dont wear makeup and I cast anybody who looks like they could utter such stupid phrases, a real dirty look.

Let me translate:

"I enjoy the attention a crush gets me, but I'm a ***** and would never actually give you a chance. If you could still worship the ground I walk on, though, that'd be sweet and I'd consider going out with you! *whispers*Not really, though.*whispers*

Eh... I hate stuff like that. Backhanded comments. If you don't have something kind to say, don't try and dress it up as something kind. Just say it.

If you don't mind me asking, are you in high school? If so, don't worry. When college comes around, things change. You still get the really shallow people, and everyone is still shallow to an extent (even you, don't deny it :p) but it's much, much easier to find girls that are willing to date you in college. You just have to know where to look and keep an open mind.
Yeah I'm still in "grade school" and I know that and I don't really think that any of this matters because in a few years I'll have forgotten, But I just think it is stupid that there is people like that. I know everyone is a little shallow, but to be as shallow as some girls are is just stupid. But yeah, I basically knew college was easy to get a girlfriend.

I see you didn't bother to read even ONE response.

Fake = you hide your emotions. You hide your real "U". I won't call it "double-faced", because that's an advantage and cunningness. That's just lame.

Isn't everyone fake? We all act differently around certain people, there's no use in anyone pretending they don't. It makes sense to tell someone they're very fake, or too fake, but never just to call them fake as a backhanded comment.
Maybe they aren't fake enough...

See, that's the point with me. I'm not fake. That's why at the age of 11, I had only two friends. Even then, they are both girls.

Point is - as you see me here, I'm being a jerk. But I'm also a jerk outside. So either people see I'm a jerk and they don't care, because I like them, and they like me... or they are too stupid to understand that I'm just like that.

I'm not saying I'm a sociopath (or a homocidal maniac), I do have a soft side, but you are fake when you change your life COMPLETELY. For example, my friend had a... really serious problem. What would a normal person/fake me said?

"Don't worry, it'll bet getter, don't cry"? Yep. I said:

"Don't worry, you could've had worse. I know people that have worse things than you do". That's what I said. And it helped her more than fake comforting.

So lesson is - don't give in to peer pressure. All the smart kids don't.*

Trying to confuse the guy is the best trick the female has over the male - Its their nice way of saying No.

I'm literally immune to peer pressure anyway. That's why I've been constantly surrounded by marijuana addicts and borderline alcoholics and I haven't taken up either habits.
But you're right, to pretend you're a different person when you haven't changed yourself internally is fake. I think some people just don't know how to handle a person who is like yourself, i.e. accepting what other people would call a 'bad attitude' as your own.

But isnt everything relative? Thats like saying you shouldn't call water cold because its not as cold as ice, or space. Its somewhat understood among humans (I hope) that when you say someone is something, you mean relatively... like if someones fake that MEANS they're very fake compared to the fakeness we all innately have. If we call someone fast we mean they're faster relative to humans, when you say someones fast you dont mean they're the fastest thing around...

"Its all relative!"

But to call someone else fake is to imply that you yourself aren't, so you're saying that they're more fake than you. But they aren't, everyone is fake in some way or another but just as equally. Therefore there isn't anything more or less than to relate it to.

EDIT:im not crushing, were just friends. also she called me self "sentered" and pathetic and a jerk. even though i always help her with her problems and talk her threw them. so im like the hell?
Did she at least explain what fake was, or was she overtly agitated making her call a bit on the dubious side?

Don't let other people tell you who you are! Stand up for yourself. Like Yahtzee said: People are shit!

Except for you and me of course!
