Enough caps to buy anything I could possibly want, through no use of the cheats. Stuff just piles up, although I've started to use pre-war money as currency instead now, just because it's like a 20cap note.

OH, YOU MEAN THE CURRENCY, THEN IM IN THE WRONG THREAD.

No but seriously, when i tried the game out i had no problems getting lots and lots of Caps, but that's pretty much because i always went with a light package, i sold just about everything i found except the items i really needed, but i guess that all amounts to how one plays the game.

I have a bit more than 10,000 or so I think. I had 100 repair and the perk that finds you more ammo, so I only ever spent money on my house. Also cigarette cartons are good for money compared to their weight.

Right now I have 20,000. After all the stuff I've come across, especially in Zeta, I had a hard time trying to find enough people with enough caps so I could sell it.

At the end of the main game, probably around 25,000. After dicking around with 3 of the 5 DLCs, and if I sold in everything in my house, probably 200,000. I am a pack rat, what can I say?

4,000-5,000 I went with the evil path halfway through, so I just killed people and took what I wanted.

I could also repair my own stuff So I saved money on that and ammo was never a problem from the beginning.

Im an explorer and seller, and I currently have 55,782 caps on my character. but like someone said eatrlier, they really lose their value halfway through because by then i had my arter at 79 percent and i just traded enemy weapons and crap. id make a trip to rivet city every five hours (ingame time) because the enemies are stupid and dont use tactics.

I know you're new here, but we generally don't like it when you bring up a thread over a year old. If you have something so say its best to start a new thread for such an old issue.

On my first playthrough I ended up with about 50,000 caps. It actually gets much easier to amass them after a certain point, especially if you get your repair skill and barter skills up to 100. Early on you have to use caps to buy stimpacks, get repairs, buy ammo, but eventually you stock up so much ammo and medkits you start selling it. For example I never used the 5mm rounds, or flamer ammunition, but whenever you find a mini-gun or flamer there's usually plenty of ammo so it's an easy way to make money, and once you've found at least 100 stimpacks you realize you're never going to use that many so I sold any over 20 that I found. They just accumulated over time with selling things I didn't need, and the pre-war books quest helped boost it a fair amount. Also it helps to realize that most of what you need can be found if you look for it. Spare stimpacks, ammo, rad-x, rad-away, weapons and armor for repairs, etc... can be found all over, especially if you're anal about searching every filing cabinet, desk, or bathroom stall you see. After level 5 there's not much of a point of buying items.

My caps seems to be stuck around 14,000.

It dawns on me that my character actually has set an economy in a post-apocalyptic wasteland...

30,000, without using hacks or Fortune Finder. Most of them were near the end, as I simply killed Enclave soldiers and hauled around their plasma rifles and power armour to sell. I had a barter skill of 100 and perks to help my trading.
