Considering what has been happening lately and that the source is our beloved Kotaku I guess it would be safier to just forget about it until Bethesda actually says something.

If this is actually set in Boston then I want, NO... DEMAND That somebody shouts, "How you like dem apples!"

That or they switch the narrator over to Robin Williams as therapist/chronicler of the protagonist.

But this also looks like Bethesda is making this some sort of linear shooter. Which is, well, bullshit. This isn't Fallout, next thing we'll here is about how they're going to tack on competitive multiplayer. So I'm just going to call bullshit all around.

Bullshit.
Sorry, too close to the hoax for me to believe anything related to Fallout 4. Especially "leaked" documents that break Bethesda's traditions, make no mention of Fallout in any direct way, and came from Kotaku.
Ya I mean Kotaku as trusted source? I'd trust survivor2299 site over that.

False, for one there is no Ron Perlman narrating the game. Bethesda would never give your character a voice.

Why Boston? I mean, I know everyone had a hard on for the Commonwealth faction being introduced properly but East Coast Fallout is just so... shit.

I don't know if Obsidian will want to touch the franchise again after they got stiffed on bonuses because they scored 84 on Metacritic when 85 would have given them their bonus.

Well, I'm always happy for any more Fallout games, but I was REALLY hoping for this one to take place in the Southeast. Swamps, forests, the Appalachian mountains, mutant alligators, killer kudzu, and mutant cannibal rednecks? Sounds like a fun wasteland to me.

Wait, so that hoax was about the Institute, assumedly, and those leaks are, too? Coincidence?

EDIT:

Probably not far enough south for you, but Point Lookout (Maryland) from the DLC of the same name featured tons of swamps and inbred radioactive redneck cannibals.

OK, at this point, we may have to kidnap a Bethesda employee or two and sweat the truth out of them. Last thing I want to see is more heartbreak from the fans after what that joker pulled with the viral marketing.
Maybe people could stop getting so psyched up for every leak around. Now, the hoax site I understand, because someone put a lot of work into it. But maybe that should be a hint not to get so sucked in this time.

That beng said, I want more games in the Boston area. I would prefer modern-day, a la GTA, but I could live with post-apocalypse setting.

But I'm not counting on it just because of the 635th leak on an anticipated title this month.

at first, super fucking excited...

but then, the player says "war never changes"... unless i get to play as ron-motherfucking-perlman himself and he delivers every single one of my lines, i'm pissed.
Within an hour, someone will use this to confirm that we play as Ron Pearlman.

Wait a second, three things:
1. If this leak were to be real, this would be the first game where the player in a BGS game is voiced. That's already a huge change from prior practice.
2. Does this mean you can't set the player character's gender? Of course, they could be hiring two voice-actors like Mass Effect.
3. Based on the first point above and how big a change it would be, I'm now less certain this is genuine and more inclined that Kotaku is pulling our leg. Everything about the article smells fishy. The author claims the authenticity was confirmed as real, but then said BethSoft declined to comment. So how did you ascertain it was real?
Neither is really surprising, though. Games. Games have changed. Remember not too long ago, when Fallout 3 was a FPS and it was a change?

Now, remember, I'm one of the skeptics, so I'm not saying that means it's confirmed or anything. In fact, I still doubt it. But voiceovers? And one per gender choice? Not exactly what I call earth shattering, even if it's new to Fallout.

But I'll believe it when I see the first footage of a bug-laden playthrough.

Heeeeey guys?

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but if you read the AMA on Reddit, the guy who made the hoax based it off of a script. Which he made about a year ago. And he then adapted into the whole Survivor 2299.

So I'm pretty sure there has just been a big balls up, and you have found the prankster's's original script. Unless I am mistaken, because he defiantly said it was based off a script made about a year ago, which he had uploaded and I think was re-uploading to show Reddit. Oh boy.

I'm getting extremely confused now. Was there not a news post like this like, Months ago that Three Dog himself confirmed it was in Boston? Does no one else remember that happening?
Oh shit, I get it now. I'm a precog aren't I?

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... unless Bethesda, releases an official trailer on their youtube page for Fallout 4, I will believe not a word of these leaks and rumors.
You may have to hold on a bit more, the dude behind Survivor 2299 actually paid for a Fallout 4 CGI trailer to be made. He said he would upload it once Bethesda cooled down a bit, so I bet you within the month or so there will be copy-pastes of it everywhere. And people will still misunderstand.

I sincerely hope that document image is a fake. The idea of the main character narrating hints at it being a voiced protagonist, and I really do not want that to happen. It was irritating enough when Dragon Age 2 had one and I'd like developers to stop trying to fit their games into this made up check list for Triple A games.

Yeah I don't to not believe shit that comes from Kotaku. Could be real, could be fake. Frankly, I couldn't care less. I hated the modern Fallout games and since I have no reason to believe the series will ever return to strategic turn-based game play, the series ended for me a long time ago

Nope, nope, nope. This has to be fake. This must be some extended part of that survivor hoax and Kotaku just wants to get more views.
