it needs to be BIGGER im sory but if i put my heart to it i could complete every mission in that game in under 6 hrs
more quests , more varied terrain (there were far to many repetitive tinnels) wider area, vehicals, i didnt see a single man sized bike in the place although there were more than enough red tricicles
Yerr, those tinnels are a real pain, aren't they?

I'd like to see flying, either via magic or via Icarus device. Why? Because we know the engine can handle it and animesque battles in the air but with medieval weapons would be awesome. On that note, I'd also like to see more reflexive combat physics, i.e. knockback and shock effects that affect more than corpses.

I'd also like to see more details to set it aside from the generic. Little things like, I don't know, trees that grow in latticed groves that become tubes/ordinary-seeming animals with odd traits or inherent magic/ weird atmospheric effects. It needs things that say "This is not earth in the anachronistic and magic middle ages".
Yes, adding magic and medieval weapons wouldn't make it just another generic RPG now, would it?

Cyborg Dogmeat? With a plasma cannon? So he doesn't get in your damned WAY!
I hated Dogmeat. He just kept getting killed every 3 min. I ended up just leaving him at my house for the whole game.
I did the same thing, except because I was worried he might get killed. Which would make me sad. :(

I prefer to work solo, as none of the allies know how to sneak, pick locks, or not fire into gas-filled rooms.

EDIT: Also, this is one of the few games where vehicles would work really, really well. Just imagine being able to do a big car chase like in Mad Max 2.

Also, try somewhere not in America, so we could really immerse ourselves into what a post-apocalypse would be like elsewhere.

How about make a brand new engine, not some Oblivion copy, and a better ending. Everything else is fine.
It was a lot like Oblivion, but tbh if it wants to be like that then it should go with it. Oblivion had some of the best and neatest gameplay I have ever seen. However, I was sometimes convinced that I WAS playing Oblivion and wondered where all my repair hammers had gone...

I posted that late at night. Apparently I was under the apprehension that I was posting in the Elder Scrolls 5 thread. It was a bit more complex than just magic and medieval weapons, though.

Jetpacks for Fallout 4, anyone?

I would like to see more choices (take some notes from Fable 2). I didn't really care for Fable 2 all that much but man you could do alot in that game. For an example the blood ties quest. Why was there no option to convince either side to wipe the other off the face of the map? And let us join factions. It seems everyone is fairly organized. Why can't I join a band of Raiders or a group of Wastelanders. I know what is missing! A sense of belonging. Sure you help a place out and they thank you and give you a place to crash (and a robot) but there is no real sense of belonging. You spend the entire game as an outsider.
Well thats sort of the point.

Less Oblivion, more Fallout. That's all.
As in... No Level Scaling, More Dark Humor, Bigger Focus on Dialogue and a better and more well thought out story?
Also, more interesting places, rather than "generic abandoned store" and "abandoned metro station with ghouls and mutants" and "generic abandoned sewers with bandits/raiders" all over the place. Kinda like Oblivion's endless caves, forts, elven ruins and mines.
You found oblivion to be interesting to explore? My god do 3 peaces of different collored paper amuse you?

Haha that makes more sense. I read it, thinking what the hell is this person chatting on about?!

more believeable characters... the dialoge was OK but they just stood there, stiff, watching you....

and also when you go into 3rd person it looks terrible...

so all in all, better graphics on the small touches..

and yes, vehicles...

What? Before you even try to insult me, try proof reading your post first. Can you even read? I compared Oblivion's repetitive locales to Fallout's repetitive locales. The fact that I have to explain this to you says so much.

Oblivion had magic+ranged+mele, fallout just has guns basically.

I'd like to see mele done ALOT better, like wtf with no targeting parts in vats? unarmed is MUCH more powerful (when speced) than mele weapons WTF. yeah that makes sense... not.

mutations could be used in fallout to replace oblivions magic, much like in bioshock mutations are basically used to cast spells in a sci fi game. this could mean fallout 3 has 3 combat componants instead of 1.

I'd like to see 3rd person done properly or not at all. games should just either stick with one or the other imo, but hey. just fix up the ice skating in 3rd person and I'd probably stop complaining.

I'd love to see cities more like assassin's creed/GTA. was thinking other day how much cities in oblivion/fallout suck really, I'd rather have crowds of npc's I can't interact with other than attack, than a few named npc's with conversion arcs. only with crowds does it feel like an actual city. just make it obvious like in assassin's creed which npc's you can interact with. the atmosphere in bethesda games's city's is just not right.

more FPS elements like shake on scope, prone etc.

I don't like having to pick my stats at the start of the game. the stats system was ALOT better than oblivion, ie no stats for each type of race/gender madness. but still when I start the game I just want to play base stats should always be identicle imo.

BALANCE STIMPACKS!!!
add a real time animation for each one used so they can't just be spammed when game is paused. farcry2 style animations are dreamy. or at least add a cooldown. fallout is never ever challenged once you get a bit of money because once you can buy lots of simpacks you are literally invincible. at least health pots in oblivion you couldn't get by the truckload.

look at popular fallout 3 mods:
SPRINT!!!! and ones which reduce amount of damage taken on limbs and increase head damage. in fallout 3 head shots do same damage as foot shots... WTF

2d in 3d. I don't care what you think. Fallout just doesn't work so good in FPS. Also I liked to see Harold and more references on the old fallouts, but most of all I liked to see New Reno in it. I just love New Reno so much. All the thugs, dealers and pimps made it a perfect gangster city, but obviously thats not possible because theres way too much content that you can't show to your 12 year old brats. Bocca out.

'kay well other than just screwing the classics I definitely wanted to see bigger cities. Megaton, Big city and that fucking ship which name I can't remember!? Deeper characters and Low/high intelligence dialog options. Everything that made the classics awesome you know what I'm saying.

I'd like to see an online mode
real time chat.
NPC's getting pissed off when you sit there doing nothing in their house
Get rid of Luck to add strategy
The observant questionnaire said:
I'd like

Vehicles
NPCS to acknowledged your status
Have more involved faction
for Fallout 4 to be a MMO
being able to kill Liberty Prime.

@Bocca

There was Harold in Fallout 3 he was in Oasis at the top of the map.
You are able to knock out Liberty Prime.

I'd like to see the Brotherhood get corrupt and them joining the Enclave, then have you help the Outcasts. Because I like the Outcasts more and identified with them even if their priorities are screwed up.
Keep the Railway Rifle, one of the most fun weapons in the game, next to the MIRV.
I'd like to see a solar powered weapon, because I think that would be fun.
different environments other than dystopian brown, there was color, people!
No electricity out of the cities, it just doesn't make sense.
Ability to have more than one follower and to form groups, have different names based on Karma level.

Return to the West Coast, and perhaps even a look at the rest of the world. A choice of different upbringings with different main quest storylines (e.g. Vault Dweller, Tribal, BoS). Use of vehicle fast travel and random encounters (though this has been modded into the Fallout 3 now) Bring back traits!! Make it bigger, make it better!!

P.s. many of the things you guys are asking for are available in mods for Fallout 3 :p
