Favorite Fallout 3 Weapon

It's basically a sword that's on fire (I'm assuming its gas-powered). Does a lot of damage to boot. A lot more then a regular swordKaveKa said:
I don't know if its scripted or not, but the guys body I found it on was laying face down in the fountain that's outside of GNR. You can also buy it, although don't ask me which NPC had it, because I honestly don't remember.Piemaster said:
Combat Shotgun is my go-to at the moment; I haven't progressed far enough to find the Fat Boy (though I've got one round for it...) or the Railgun, or any of the really advanced weaponry really.
The Minigun's fun to shoot, but ineffective unless I dump a lot of XP into boosting my Big Gun stat. I gimped my Strength stat to boost my Charisma and Intelligence, so hand-to-hand stuff isn't terribly rewarding for me. (The resulting necessity for loot dumps and multiple trips to fence said loot makes me regret that somewhat.)
I took out the Behemoth with a regular missile launcher, and one critical VATS hit to the head. I suspect he'd soaked up a fair bit of Brotherhood assault rifle ammo before then, though.

It's also very easy to shoot it out of their hands in VATS (it's big, so it makes a good target). The only problem is that they are sometimes so far away that you can't see them before they've blown you to bits.Madnezz said:
My personal favorite weapon is the Chinese Assault Rifle, but I like automatic weapons in games. I tend to switch between it, the Hunting Rifle, and the 10mm Submachine Gun so I don't break my weapons or use up all of my ammo. I use the Combat Shotgun for close-quarters fighting, one good blast in the face will take down a Mirelurk.
I'd use it more, but it's hard to find copies so that I can repair it, and the ammo is also pretty rare.Richard Groovy Pants said:

Yeah, the sniper rifle is pretty damn good as far as damage and range go, as should be expected. But it has a relatively slow rate of fire, and .308 ammo is REALLY rare compared to other ammo. Almost nobody sells it, and there's not enough other sniper rifles out there for enemies to be carrying it. I've found the higher rate of fire for the other rifles makes up for their shorter range.JMeganSnow said:
1st Place Lincoln's Repeater- Super plentiful ammo, damage is excellent as well as accuracy.

May not be the best weapon on the game, but definitely my favourite is the Combat Shotgun. So much fun decapitating zombies as they try to claw at my face...
