Favorite Fallout 3 Weapon

I like the Ol' Painless. It's a looks like a regular hunting rifle, but does more damage and has zero spread (meaning it hits exactly where you aim). That and you can get it pretty early in the game if you know where to go.

It also makes a very satisfyling BANG.. the meatiest in the game imo.

A lot of people have mentioned the Chinese Assault Rifle, but few have mentioned the Xuanlong Assault Rifle. You know, the "unique" version of the C.A.R.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the reloading animation for the Chinese Pistol is REALLY bloody cool?
I don't really like the pistol itself, but it just looks so AWESOME.

My second favorite weapon besides my Chinese friend is probably my Scoped .44 Magnum, just because it's good at everything. You don't find a lot of ammo for it, but you don't really NEED to. It handily removes bodies from their respective heads at 100 feet with nary a need for messy ammo scavenging and stressful trips to the Rivet City Marketplace.

Ah the Xuanlong assault rifle... my most used weapon. Absolutely destroys muties, robots and raiders. I find myslef falling back on the terible shotgun for the CUNTING giant radscorpions though.

DI see you also like the .44, did you get the blackhawk from Agatha? It's a super powerful version of the magnum.

Yeah, I never really got very far in the game, so I didn't pick up the Blackhawk. I might start playing again, though, once I get tired of Guild Wars: Nightfall and Eye of the North.
But anyway, back on topic...

YES... there is no gaming image more fun than rock-it-launcher + teddy + bloody mess... total genius!

The blackhawk is a truly powerful version of the .44 and it will make you a very happy adventurer.

How good is the missile launcher? I saw a video of that in action, but haven't come across it in-game yet. It looked fantastic in VATS mode.

It's good for flushing enemies out of cover, but for me it's way too slow.

My Fav. weapon is Reservist (Sniper)Rifle. I love sniping people while Fawkes rushes in and bashes the hell out of baddies

Also the Mauler from the Pitt. That is a seriously fun melee weapon!

how has no one said colonel autumns laser pistol? its like a laser pistol crossed with the assault rifle!
(ok you have to cheat to use it at any point where theres an enemy to kill but still...)

i used the hunting rifle for ages, i generally use ol' painless over lincolns repeater though - lincolns repeater may do more damage, have a three times larger clip and be more durable, but what good is that when you can't find any ammo for it?

any time i'm not being a vats wh0re i tend to use the chinese assault rifle. sometimes i get bored of taking cover til my vats is restocked.

as far as mele weapons go, i look at how i skilled my character and have to wonder why i would bother. so i pick the terrible shotgun or the dart gun. nothing beats dart gunning a deathclaw and then trying to punch it to death at one damage per punch.

Hopefully Broken Steel will let us take advantage of Colonel Awesome's lazer pistol...

The other disadvantage of lincolns repeater is that you could be using that rare .44 ammo for your Blackhawk.

The repeater has by far the coolest reload animation though!

Hunting Rifle - many of them throughout the Wasteland, so their easy to repair/maintain and ammo is everywhere, and if you have the right perks, can do a LOT of damage, besides that my favourite would have to be the Lincoln Repeater (is that the name? i forget)

The Mole Rat Stick, that kills Mole Rats in one hit and has near-infinite durability.

Alien Blaster and the Railway Rifle, just for nailing limbs to walls.

oh and theres the repellent stick.

nothing is more satisfying than beating some to to death with a stick

Where did you find it? I love hypnosis and mind control weapons, but I dont know where to find it.

In awnser to the thread, I have to say the Combat Shotgun, for pure and simple mindless

slaying. I also dig the Hunting Rifle.

you get it while do the quest for the guard outside of Paridise falls

My favorite was the Terrible shotgun and Blackhawk

There are alot of good weapons in fallout but nothing beats a good old (combat) shotgun.

Lincoln's Repeater. It's like the hunting rifle on steroids. Once I got The Pitt so I could use the Ammo Press and make more rounds for it, I was over the moon.
