"I'll begin with how I peeled back the layers of the boy's mind.
Oh, he bravely tried to fight it at first.
You would have been proud to see him so strong.
But all too soon the serums and the shocks took their tool, and the dear lad began to share such secrets with me.
Secrets that are mine alone to know, Bruce.
It's true Batsy, I know everything. And, kind of like the kid who peeks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anticlimactic. Behind all the stern and batarangs, you're just a little boy in a play-suit crying for mummy and daddy. It would've been funny if it weren't so pathetic.
....
....
Oh what the heck, I'll laugh anyway.
WHAHAHHAHAHAHA"
- Joker. Batman Beyond Return of the Joker.

"You have your mothers eyes, and soon, so shall I.
On a necklace, I think."
Doviculus- Brütal Legend.

And frame my face to all occasions!

"It's nothing more than a great bloody cat!"
-Abdallah Jones, remarking on the mountain lion that's been stalking him and his terrorist group through the woods of the pacific northwest, right before the main character shoots him in the head. Neil Stephenson's "Reamde".

A personal favorite of mine:

Spider-Man. This is why only fools are heroes - because you never know when some lunatic will come along with a sadistic choice. Let die the woman you love... or suffer the little children? Make your choice, Spider-Man, and see how a hero is rewarded - The Green Goblin (Spiderman)

Amethyst Wind said:
Do they have to be evil? Because I'm not so sure that tag applies to Grand Admiral Thrawn, who espoused great lines almost continuously.

Case in point - His final words:

"But...it was so artfully done."
After re-reading those books years later, I realized that I enjoyed the parts with Thrawn more than the rest.

"I told you not to trust me" -- Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish. (I want no Song Of Ice And Fire spoilers in response, please!)

"To tell the truth, I think I've had enough of afterlives as it is. This one has been pretty purgatorial... Never sleeping, never resting, never ceasing to think about the world I no longer belong to. No, if this is a taste of the afterlife, I think simple oblivion will do nicely" -- Jacob Hargreave (context: he's kept alive by machines now).

"Tell me, Doctor Freeman, if you can. You have destroyed so much-- what is it, exactly, that you have created? Can you name even one thing? I thought not" -- Dr. Breen (has been quoted before here, I know).

"Why, you treacherous little tart. Am I surprised? No, no, not terribly. But offended, surely, and unimpressed. Unimpressed. You're a bungler. As thick as your father; not so quick on the uptake. You think you can kill me? With your paltry heat vision? You'll scarcely damage me. It would take ten of you to cause me harm" -- Brainiac.

"I hit something for the first time!"

Sanity is for the weak - chaos space marine

A man chooses, a slave obeys - Andrew Ryan.
In fact all quotes in bio shock are pretty epic.

But my favorite quote is defiantly.
I'm not stealing your kids, have the papers. - rabbit proof fence.

"Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact...same fucking thing, over and over again...expecting shit to change. That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that...I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, boom, I shot him. The thing is...he was right. And then I started seeing it, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked, all these fucking pricks...everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing, over and over and over and over and over again, thinking this time, it's gonna be different, nonono please, this time, it's gonna be different, I'm sorry, but I don't like THE WAY YOU...are looking at me, kay? Do you have a fucking problem in your head, do you think I'm bullshitting you, do you think I'm lying, FUCK YOU! Okay, FUCK! YOU! It's okay, hehehe, I'm gonna chill man, the thing is, alright, the thing is, I killed you once already, and it's not like I am fucking crazy. It's okay...it's like water under the bridge. Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?"-Vaas.

"This is some weird fuckin' foreplay, huh?"-buck.

"I bet you're wondering why this is happening. Why am I doing all this? Why am I so hell-bent on ruining your life? You're cramping my style. You've got money, fame, everything you could want, but you don't know what to do with it! I do! I'm getting all the things you never had the balls to go for. Having more fun too!

Do you know the real difference between us?

I'm not afraid to be the center of attention."-Mr scratch

It's pretty lame but when you're playing as a khajiit in Skyrim one of the random enemy taunts is:

You remind me of my cousin's cat! Killed that one too!

Makes me chuckle every time!

Most of my other examples come from Metal Gear Solid villains because... how could they not?

Not yet, Snake! It's not over yet! - Liquid Snake just won't die!

Snake. We're not tools of the government, or anyone else. Fighting was the only thing... the only thing I was good at. But... at least I always fought for what I believed in. - Grey Fox

There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver bullet into a well greased chamber. I love the smell of cordite...you know, that sulfury smell? But to you, it will be the smell of your own death. - And pretty much anything that Ocelot ever says.

This is just one of many quotes that makes this character so despicable. And yet it's so awesome.

"My question to you is, do we show him mercy? Or do we send a message to all those who oppose us? A message that states beyond any shadow of a doubt that their cause is futile and their true destiny... is to perish!"

A slightly long one from Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards!

The Patrician steepled his hands and looked at Vimes over the top of them.
"Let me give you some advice, Captain," he said. "It may help you make some sense of the world. I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You're wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides."
He waved his thin hand toward the city and walked over to the window.
"A great rolling sea of evil. Shallower in some places, of course, but deeper, oh, so much deeper in others. But people like you put together little rafts of rules and vaguely good intentions and say, this is the opposite, this will triumph in the end. Amazing. Down there," he said. "are people who will follow any dragon, worship any god, ignore any iniquity. All out of a kind of humdrum, everyday badness. Not the really high, creative loathsomeness of the great sinners, but a sort of mass-produced darkness of the soul. Sin, you might say, without a trace of originality. They accept evil not because they say YES, but because they don't say NO."
"I'm sorry if this offends you," he added, patting the captain's shoulder, "but you fellows really need us. We're the only ones who know how to make things work. You see, the only thing the good people are good at is overthrowing the bad people. And you're good at that, I'll grant you. But the trouble is that it's the ONLY thing you're good at. One day it's the ringing of the bells and the casting down of the evil tyrant, and the next it's everyone complaining that ever since the tyrant was overthrown no one's taking out the trash. Because the bad people know how to PLAN. It's part of the specification, you might say. Every evil tyrant has a plan to rule the world. The good people don't seem to have the knack."

"If a man dedicates his life to good deeds and the welfare of others, he will die unthanked and unremembered. If he exercises his genius bringing misery and death to billions, his name will echo through the millennia for a hundred lifetimes. Infamy is always more preferable to ignominy."

"What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk... have at you!"

Dracula's notorious line from the beginning of Castlevania: SotN.
Here's the thing, though... I'm pretty sure that line is particularly well-known on the internet because of how bad everyone thinks it is... but I really like it. Belmont's voice actor is fucking dire but Dracula delivers the line pretty well, and let's not forget, he throws his wine glass like any evil, angry aristocrat should.

And if the writing of that line just seems peculiarly high-class for a game with next to no significant story to it, it's because it was originally penned by Andre Malraux in Antimemoirs.

Kind of a villain, at leas the becomes so as the book goes on:-

?God saves - but not now, and not here. His salvation is on layaway. Like all grifters, He asks you to pay now and take it on faith that you will receive later. Whereas women offer a different sort of salvation, more immediate and fulfilling. They don't put off their love for a distant, ill-defined eternity but make a gift of it in the here and now, frequently to those who deserve it least. So it was in my case. So it is for many. The devil and woman have been allies against God from the beginning...?
