Phil Anslemo (Pantera, Down), probably one of the best metal vocalists of all time.
Tom Araya (Slayer), there's such power in his voice, especially live. It's amazing.
Dave Mustaine (Former Metallica, Megadeth, MD45), I love his style of singing. He's not as good as he used to be, but he's still damn good (better than James Hetfield imo, Jame's voice went to hell after Black Album). Plus he has better guitar/singing co-ordination than any other guitarist/singer I've seen. Have a listen at Tornado of Souls.

Alright, not really a vocalist, more of a spoken-word poem reciter with musical accompaniment. Still good.

Good to see more people like Akerfeldt... then again, hard not to.
And of course how could I forget! Dave Mustaine. He may be a dick but he's a great singer.

Bruce Dickinson - Iron Maiden
Matt Bellamy - Muse
James Hetfield - Metallica
Hayley Williams - Paramore
Angela Gossow - Arch Enemy

Ok so there could be other motives in the last two but...

2. Howard Jones - Singer with Killswitch Engage, easily has the best voice in metal of current times.
Not true. Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity can do everything Howard can do, and do it better. But then he's been doing vocals in DT for 15 years now.

My top 5:
1: Jamie Stewart from The Absence
2: Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity
3: Tomi Joutsen from Amorphis
4: Christian Alvestam from Scar Symmetry
5: Rob Flynn from Machine Head

Jeff Buckley is my favourite by an absolute mile.

Morrisey and Levi Stubbs are good, but noone else comes close for me.

Wow thanks for introducing me to them, they sound pretty good. I dunno about the singer though. I've looked up like 5/6 songs by them now and there's nothing there to suggest that he has a normal vocal range comparable to Howard. He has got a canny metal scream on him though.

I'm liking all these obscure bands people are flinging about in here. I'm enjoying most of them.

Again she's quite a good singer, but I just don't think she sounds as brutal as Angela.

Listen to misery's crown and The Mundane and the Magic. His clean vocals come in on them, they're almost operatic.

I hear Bing Crosby singing a duet with David Bowie, the woman from Nightwish whose name escapes me, Alice Cooper, Steve Tyler, Ozzie, Gordon Lightfoot, Art & Simon, Axl, Ian Anderson, Gilmore & Waters, Bob Dylan, Daltry, and many more.
