Ohhh there are some - and I'am slightly disappointed that nobody mentioned Cowboy Bebop yet!

I've been having trouble picking a best overall scene, so here's my favourite fight scene:

I got you all beat with this one!!!

And of course this will ALWAYS hold a special spot inside my heart. Probably the most shocked I have ever been when watching an Anime, even to this day lol Blew my mind when I was a kid!

My favorite semi-recent scene is from Avatar: The Last Airbender. When Iroh is making a memorial for his son...I lost it

From my childhood...the entirety of Aladdin or "Be Prepared" from The Lion King

Ah, this thread. Okay, lets see if my favorite has been posted... hmm, OP posted it. Maybe second (Flash)? Nope, already page 1. Maybe Supermans speech to Darkseid? Nope.

Well, then the one Avatar fight that hasn't been posted yet which was disturbing and tense at the same time:

The perspective, the timing, the few spoken lines, the colours used, the animation quality of the moves themselfes... No, no scene from any anime / cartoon can top this. They have yet to display the amount of unrealism in such a realistic way.

This little fight shows the development Zuko went through, the mental state of Azula and how she thought of everyone else in terms of power.

"I'm sorry it has to end this way, brother!" "No, you're not."
My favorite part of this scene was the way they made the soundtrack, "The Final Agni Kai," much louder than the rest of the scene. It was a very emotional fight and I honestly don't think Korra can ever hope to top it

I can't find a video of just the one scene. But it's the end of Tenchi Universe after Tenchi returns home. A few episodes before the last episode, Ryoko tries to fight Kagato and get's her ass kicked and get's badly wounded. She arrogantly insists on helping Tenchi reach Jurai while wounded and it looks like she dies of blood loss after she gets Tenchi there, after that she's out of the picture for the next 3 or 4 episodes and no one knows what happens to her. But in the last episode she appears on a rock right behind Tenchi, and jumps down and hugs him and mentions that everyone else (Ayeka, Sasami, Kiyone and Mihoshi) will probably be returning as well (which they are). Perfect ending to a great series.

Sorry, couldn't find English sub, but this was without a doubt one of my favourite twists and reveal of a character in any anime series ever. For those who have seen Baccano!, they'll know what I mean.

This scene from Under the red hood was very good I thought knowing how everything turns out.

That brought a tear once you know the context. Batman animated has so many really heartbreaking moments. Especially Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Any of the moments from this episode. They really picked the perfect voice actor for such a character.
In fact, nearly half of the moments in this ENTIRE SERIES are favorites of mine. Courage the Cowardly Dog had such a powerful way of delivering pure nightmare fuel to children, and they managed to get away with it for 4 long seasons too. I think it's more than partly responsible for horror being my favorite genre.
It also had a good occasional dose of mentally scarring psychological terror (See Below)

RUNNER UP:
I never saw this on TV, but I really like it. Not only because I love that song, but because the visual style is so surreal, especially for an old cartoon.
And the fact that the long-legged thing is actually voiced by Cab Calloway helps.

Damn right. I love that movie, and would watch it again right now--if I'm not going to see Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter tonight....

OT: Freaking everything Cowboy Bebop.
Warning: Is an actual SPOILER. So if you plan on watching/are watching it's a SPOILER that you shouldn't watch as it will SPOIL the end.
Captcha: STINKING RICH. Mmh, yes; Quite--my diamond monocle would agree.

I have seen the second movie.
And while that certainly is badass, I much prefer the opening because it's not as[/i over the top as the second movie.

Damn, I've been ninja'd so much in this single thread! Well, I've got plenty of Boondock moments.

And finally this, the opening of a new cartoon I heard about.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
This is the scene I think of when I hear the term "gun fight"
the gunfight, from grenadier.

Couldn't find a clip of it anywhere but there is a scene in the third episode of Roberta'a blood trail where Roberta bites Shenhua's sword to pieces then breaks the chain of What's her Name's chainsaw with the trigger guards of her pistols. Defenitly one of my most favorite scenes.
