Okay, so you've had a shitty day, and you just want that monkey off your back.

So what do you do; play something chill, or go Michael Bay?

Myself, I play Just Cause 2. I get myself a chaingun (which has infinite ammo), wander the country side and murder lampposts and cars while giggling madly.

What's your flavour?

Also Just Cause 2. I've got a few mods that I'll enable when I just want to fuck around. 2km long grapple gun, extra strength cable, alert level control... Great fun. Can't wait for the multiplayer mod to be released! :D

I've found Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to be very cathartic as well. Me vs 9 bots on easy with the highest scorestreaks and an LMG with target finder. I'll die maybe once or twice and have fun killing everything instantly.

Dynasty Warriors, you are God amongst men leaving a swath of carnage in your wake.

Call Of Duty X's multiplayer. It's just easy to pick up, play and get kill a few people, any rage I had kinda just melts away.

Especially if I go on my more jokey classes (running around with RPGs, or Ballistic Knifes, or a Riot Shield)

Dungeon's of Dredmor is my favorite at the moment, it's the perfect silly rogue like if I've got a bit more time I play some Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

I have a few and Just Cause 2 is one of them, the others are Red Faction: Guerrilla, the destruction in that is just amazing and nothing blows off steam better than bringing down a bunch of buildings, blowing up a bridge or driving a truck into a military base. Finally, Mafia II with PhysX on max, ripping up a diner or store with a tommy gun, glass shattering, wood splintering fairly realistically. That really melts away the stress.

Hitman: Blood Money is my favourite. The "Murder of Crows" level is particularly nice. I see how many people, innocent or otherwise, I can get around to and kill.... hmm, perhaps I've said too much :)

Assassins creed 4 is turning out to be a great outlet, it combines the soothing calmness of sailing on the open sea with the intense violence of the naval battles and boarding, both of which are great for blowing off steam.

If that fails i just return to skyrim which i honestly get so absorbed in that I forget I even have problems...

Dynasty warriors for this man, as well. I don't know how many hours I've put into 8 just because I couldn't figure out what I felt like playing, or just needed to relax for a few minutes. the indecisive junk food of my gaming library, such as it were. XD

I'm playing Serious Sam 3 BFE. Use double shotgun and blast kleers and gnaars right in the face to violently scatter bones and explode blood everywhere respectively. Sledgehammer same result.

There's no shortage of pure carnage, blood and testosterone fuel.

Batman Arkham City's combat challenge maps. They're like stress balls. The combat is so well tuned and feels great. I used to do the same with Asylum. Wish I could I could do the same with Origins, but the combat just doesn't feel right in that game.

This is one of the things I really liked about Saints Row the 3rd. Sure, it wasn't as good as the 2nd game, but there's something about hijacking a vtol and going around the city blowing the shit out of military bases to blow off steam(in what is supposed to be an escort mission), or just grabbing convenient tank and attack helicopter and starting something. Oh? Were you angry at me? sorry, I couldn't hear you over my attack helicopter laying waste to half the police force.

Prototype 2. Just run down the street and slaughter everything. Or Mass Effect 3 on easy. Any game on easy where I'm just mowing cunts down is enough for me to chill out to.

I have a few on standby...

Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction - If I want to surf on a bus through cars like there small waves, I go here...

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep - Mirage Arena... Base Keyblade... No Cures... Unverse Boss Rush... (Final Destination...)

Child of Eden - Have to calm down some how... and shooting in rhythm works just fine...

Last game I've played before I even had to blow off steam in the first place - May cause the thing that wants me to blow off steam later, but I digress...

Other than that, just give me my DDR pad and any PS2 DDR game and I'm good to go either way... (Gotta step it up somehow...)

Sure as hell ain't Just Cause 2, that game is so damn frustrating I can't get any fun out of it. Quite sad, seems everyone else is playing it right.

I love some Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with medium bots. They're dumb as sticks and great fun to pick off.

Recently mine has been Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I love coming home and just wrecking some Rathians or whatever miscellaneous beast gets between me and my next shiny weapon. It's engaging enough to distract from whatever pissed me off and I'm good enough at it that it never gets hard enough on its own to piss me off itself. Plus I can pull in a friend or two if I really want to just destroy the giant beasts that a foolish enough to try to fight.

There is also a sort of dark satisfaction of waking a sleeping monster up with a shock trap only to tranq bomb it a few seconds later so that you can harvest it for valuable parts.

I play Gears of War 3's multiplayer, I enjoy getting those easy kills in such gory ways (most guns tend to just tear limbs off) and after a while I start enjoying it more because I'm settled and ready for the challenge of other players.
