Rorschach will get the majority of votes, we all know it to be true.
Yup.

He's just so realistic, and serves as the protagonist. We see the world through his rationale, and even at the end, when the plot is revealed, the book/movie convinces us that Ozy has done the right thing, but Rorschach makes you think otherwise.

Rorscach

BEFORE he revealed he was pug ugly

I guess it's realistic and intresting, but I couldn't take his miserable stuff seriously after I realised he looked like Archie from those cartoons

I like the comedian best. Especially when he jumped into the demonstration and punched the chick. That's equality right there. Liked his philosophy too.

Rorschach because he has an awesome mask and doesn't have a million counts of public nudity on his record like a certain doctor

Plus, he threw a super villain down an elevator chute. How can you not live that?
Uh, wasn't that a mentally ill guy? Not a super villain?

I liked Night Owl 2 the most, personally. He was the most morally realistic in my opinion (Silk Spectre doesn't count), and I thought he was a massive badass when he put his suit on.

Rorschach.

He's the only one who actually believes in real justice and never stops following it. But because he is the only one who actually stands up for justice all the time, people call him crazy.
See I didn't think he really stood for justice, sure he punished criminals but he acted as their judge, jury and executioner without ever questioning himself... then again I could be reading way to deeply into this :)
He did stand for justice in my book. [sub]I say that as an expression, not describing the novel[/sub]
And the way you think of Rorschach is exactly the way everyone else in the comic thinks of him. That he is too hard. But he isn't. He is the one who is just.

Sure, you might say that the better choice was to kill everyone in New York because it saved many others, but was it justice? No.

It's like Rorschach says: "Never compromise, even in the face of Armageddon".

And what about "Battle not with monsters, less you want to become a monster"? That's the whole point of Rorschach. He had to become who he is to fight evil.

The whole chapter in prison with the psychologist is about this.
You make a damn fine point,
but ozymandias's grey choices do have some justice in them...not much but what is more "just" a million people dying for a good reason or a few billion dying for no reason what so ever?

I don't know if they had that much justice, considering innocent people die without their consent, but from a moral standpoint many would probably do the same.

It is probably meant to be debated amongst people.

Rorschach. There just isn't any character like him anywhere else.

Probably the comedian, the hopeless cynic in me relates to him better than the others. Dr Manhattan was particularly good as well, it's easy to see why he was how he was.

Unlike the majority of posters above me, I didn't especially like roschach, being a batshit insane sociopath makes for a rather boring character. I struggled to relate with his black and white approach to the world, of all the major characters he easily the most naive. He's fight scenes were always exciting, and he was cool in the prison, but I just don't like the character as much as the others.

The Comidean.
Sure he's a rapist, a murderer, a liar,a chest, a cad and a traitor to the english throne, but I kinda get his entire attitude towards humanity, it's all fucked so rather than get depressed, just laugh.

Rorschach. Justice above everything, even if it means breaking some bones and cracking some skulls.

"Never compromise, not even in the face of Armageddon."

My favorite was the Comedian. He wasn't held to any kind of misplaced self-righteousness, or even a legitimate moral system, and was a wonderfully "real" character. He was human, and was portrayed as such. Most superheros, even those who are mortal, are usually designed to appear as a god among men. The Comedian was just real.

This is also one of the reasons I love the Punisher and "V" so much.

That is a great point. Rather than worry about it, and trying to change the world, he just says "Fuck it". He is out for himself, and himself only.
